While even the best LCDs haven't been able to match the inky black levels of OLED TVs, full-array local dimming technology comes pretty close.

Sharp's UB30 line isn't a flagship series, but it's the company's most compelling overall offering this year. With prices starting under $800 for the 43-inch model, and a 65-inch variant with full-array dimming checking in under $2,300, these TVs are encroaching on Vizio's famously affordable, high-quality P-series.
