WirelessInfo iPhone Coverage - A Huge Success

I'm very happy to report that our team did an amazing job covering the iPhone. The entire team pulled together all day Friday to wait on line for the phones. Then, when we got the phones in the office different parts of the editorial team took different parts of the phone to cover and all simultaneously worked on the review. The result was that we published the first comprehensive and comparative iPhone review early Saturday morning.
While the review and the traffic we got was a huge win for WirelessInfo.com, I think it was an even bigger win for our reviewing philosophies at Reviewed.com. The iPhone was tested according to our standardized rubric at WirelessInfo.com and the phone itself was put through all the different tests that we put every phone through. The result was that the editors were able to compare the iPhone to other popular smart phones including the Treo 750, Blackberry 8800, Helio Ocean, Nokia N95 and the LG Prada in a matter of hours after the phone was launched. Because the review is also so clearly standardized, we were able to multi-task reviewing with the DigitalCamerainfo.com staff for example helping out on the digital camera functionality of the phone. We ran the phone through our tests and provided scientific insight into things like audio quality, imaging quality, and phone speed and performance that no other review has covered in such detail. Our ability to publish a review that was simultaneously high quality and fast with the iPhone proved once again how comparative, standardized, ethically produced reviews based on the scientific method are of the highest value to readers.
I'm also happy to report that the readers flocked to the review. We saw a 24X increase in traffic to WirelessInfo.com on Saturday and the traffic is still going strong. That’s an incredible rise for a site that is only 4 months old. The review was voted very highly on Digg and covered on many different blogs with lots of praise for its comprehensive and useful nature. Gizmodo even called our staff "The MythBusters" of the cell phone world.
In addition to the review, our team of bloggers covered all the news and events surrounding the launch. We published the first "unboxing" video on YouTube, and the somewhat hectic but fun to watch video is now one of the most popular videos on YouTube. Our editors also appeared on CNN, MSNBC and local television stations providing insight and information that looked beyond the iPhone hype and tried to answer how good the phone matched up with others on the market.
However, with all the success that we had covering the iPhone, the thing that makes me happiest is that it was a team effort. Everyone on the editorial staff at Reviewed.com worked together deep into the night to ensure that our readers had the highest level of coverage and information.
