Panasonic Viera ET60 LED TV Review
Panasonic is generally known for its excellent plasma TVs, and plasma TVs are generally known to produce better colors than LCD or LED TVs. So we blushed a bit when we realized that the TVs in Panasonic’s current LED TV lineup have some of the most strikingly realistic hues we’ve seen from any displays. The ET60 (MSRP $1,399-$1,699) is an especially strong performer in that regard—that’s especially noteworthy because it’s a middle-tier model. Color us impressed.
Jenn-Air JDR536WP Dual-Fuel Range Review
If you’re in the market for a comically overpriced oven, check out the Jenn-Air JDR536WP duel-fuel range (MSRP $7,599). Yep, it has big-money features like gas and electric dual-fuel cooking, and an LCD control panel. But it struggles with straightforward tasks like low-temperature simmering, so where are all those thousands of extra dollars really going? That screen is going to look pretty tacky in a few years, too.
Corsair Vengeance 1300 Headphone Review
Alright gamers: Just because you use your headsets to bark orders at your teammates doesn’t mean that you can’t have great-sounding audio on the cheap. The Corsair Vengeance 1300 headphones (MSRP $79) don’t quite live up to the promise of audiophile-grade quality, and the mic won’t work for the bassi profundi out there. But these cans perform surprisingly well for a not-expensive set of gaming headphones.
Panasonic Lumix G6 Digital Camera Review
Panasonic helped to pioneer the mirrorless compact system camera genre, but has looked a bit flat-footed as of late. The new G6 (MSRP $749) isn’t a revelation, but plays up to the Lumix line’s main strength—high quality video on the cheap—and adds some useful extra features like a WiFi and NFC communication. Still-photo quality is quite good, but lags behind all of its chief competitors.
