Earlier this week, LG Electronics revealed its latest air conditioner, dubbed the Artcool Stylist Inverter V. The successor to the existing Artcool Gallery residential air conditioner, the new wall unit is both slimmer and quieter.

But while LG's news release briefly mentions the air conditioner's energy efficiency and performance, your attention will most likely be fixated on the Stylist's unique look.

The unit's design is simple and elegant: It looks like little more than a square box protruding 121 millimeters, or about 4.7 inches, from the wall. Blending in seamlessly with any décor, it could easily be mistaken as a fancy speaker, a piece of art, or a light fixture. The unit's ring of LED lighting changes colors to indicate heating or cooling by default, but you can change it to fit whatever your mood calls for.

Rather than blasting a stream of air in one direction like most air conditioners, the Stylist softly emits cool air to the sides and to the floor, which supposedly allows the room to cool more naturally and evenly. The unit also uses LG's duct-free inverter-driven compressor technology, which lets the Stylist run at a whisper-quiet 19dB.

The Stylist ships with a sleek remote with a 3.4-inch touch screen. Although no pricing has been revealed, the units will be available later this month across Europe, Africa, and the Russian Commonwealth. Sorry, Americans both North and South: You'll have to hop across the pond to pick up this beauty.
