ZTE Unveils Grand X Max+ and Smart Projector

At CES 2015, ZTE is showing off its SPro 2 next-gen smart pico projector alongside the new Grand X Max+—a 4G LTE Android smartphone available exclusively through Cricket Wireless in the U.S.
During its Monday press conference, the Chinese handset manufacturer demoed the SPro 2's unique Android-powered touchscreen functionality. The device, which looks a bit like a set-top box, can accept input through a host of input options, including microSD cards, USB sticks, and an HDMI port.
The SPro 2 is designed for a range of multimedia purposes, from gaming to a full cinema experience. It offers a native 720p resolution and projects HD images up to 120-inches, with a brightness of 200 lumens.

“The SPro 2 is the only mobile projector powered by the Android platform, or to include a mobile hotspot,” said Jeff Yee, Vice President of Technology Planning and Partnerships at ZTE USA. “You can have an impactful presentation or entertainment experience on a big screen without planning around a destination.”
ZTE also unveiled the Grand X Max+, a no-contract smartphone available for $199.99. Features include a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera, a 6-inch HD display, a quad-core processor, 16GB of internal memory, and 2GB of RAM.
Through Cricket Wireless, users can choose from the following plans: Basic ($40 for 1GB), Smart ($50/3GB), and Pro ($60/10GB).
Finally, ZTE announced the launch of its Innovation Venture Fund. The program is designed to facilitate mobile innovation in the North American market.
Select mobile app developers will receive funding to help distribute their products across ZTE's global network and product ecosystem. The first award from the Venture Fund has gone to Azumio, creator of the weight-training and fitness app, Fitness Buddy.
