Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones review

Bose is known for producing headphones that look great and wear well, and the QuietComfort2 headphones only enforce this reputation. The QC2s are a classy pair of over-ear headphones. They're also quite comfortable thanks to their foam padding with soft, pleather-esque coverings. Since the cups tilt and swivel, they should conform to just about any head.
The QuietComfort series is most well know for its active noise cancellation. This feature is especially good for those on a commute -- particularly frequent fliers -- since it provides significant isolation from ambient bass noise. The closed-back, over-ear design will further help isolate you and your music from the outside world. The QuietComfort 2s might be a good choice if you like to catch the midnight flick when your spouse calls it an early night.
Though aesthetically pleasing and very comfortable, the QuietComfort 2s don't have the best sound quality. They have trouble evenly emphasizing higher frequencies, causing the affected sounds to seem unnaturally inconsistent. The headphones also have trouble reproducing sound evenly between the cups: certain frequencies will sound louder in one cup than the other. On the positive end, they are capable of very loud playback without distortion becoming a factor.
At $299.99, the QuietComfort 2s are a bit expensive, but definitely have a niche. If you're looking for good (but not perfect) sound quality in a nice-looking package, you should definitely consider these.
