Good
Versatility seems to be the key with the Garmin nüvi 360 as it offers a decent multimedia feature set apart from advance navigational features ((PC Mag, GPS Information, Pocket Lint). Audioholics commented on the 3.5” anti-glare color display, which was found to be “vivid” and “bright”. The touch-screen on the nüvi 360 is quick and responsive (Audioholics, GPS Lodge) and Pocket Lint also liked the tourist guide feature which gives information on galleries, museums etc. For any GPS device navigation is the most important criteria and the nüvi 360 does handle this aspect extremely well (PC Mag, GPS Information, Pocket Lint, GPS Lodge, Audioholics). According to Audioholics, the 3D maps are quick to load and respond and PC Mag observes that the device can lock onto satellites in areas where earlier generation GPS receivers failed. Garmin uses data from Navteq and both GPS Information and Pocket Lint found the route information extremely accurate.
Bad
Like the Garmin nüvi 350, the 360 also comes across as an excellent performer and it’s hard to find significant faults with it. However GPS Information wished for a built in FM modulator and observed that at times the nuvi would lock up and be unresponsive. Audioholics criticized the MP3 player since the unit only supports MP3 formats and Pocket Lint thought that the speakers performance was dismissal. PC Mag also thinks that the UI could do with some minor tweaks.
Bottom Line
The Garmin nüvi 360 is a top-notch GPS performer and offers a number of advance features in an extremely compact footprint (PC Mag, GPS Information, Pocket Lint ,GPS Lodge, Audioholics). On the road, the device performed great thanks to the on board NAVTEQ maps and ultrasensitive SiRF Star III GPS receiver (PC Mag, GPS Lodge).
