The Echo Dot (on sale for $29.99) does everything the full-size Echo does, from setting timers and checking the weather to playing games and listening to music. The sound quality of the Dot is ok for casual listening, but it's noticeably tinny. However, you can use an auxiliary cable to attach it to any speaker for better playback.
