With a 25-second heat up time and sound user controls, the Nespresso Gran Maestria doesn't overly-complicate espresso making for users.
The Nespresso Gran Maestria's brew chamber is located at the top of the machine and can be opened by lifting up the long tab at the top. The pods are inserted on their sides and fall into a bin inside the machine that can be emptied out. After putting the pod in, the machine takes only 25 seconds to heat up.
Next, you can customize what's poured into the stainless steel milk reservoir that resides on the right side of the Nespresso Gran Maestria. You can adjust the milk that is poured into the reservoir to hot and cold and the froth to stiff or velvety. For users who want to make their own milk froth and pour it in themselves, having this external milk reservoir is an important part of the machine.
Cleaning & Maintenance
You can clean the milk reservoir either by hand or in the dish washer by removing the whisk at the bottom of the container. The used pod bin is also located inside the machine and pulls out to be emptied, though we had a tough time trying to get it back inside on the show floor.
Even if you have someone in your household who prefers strong espresso with a thick milk froth and another who likes a milder brew with not much foam, the Nespresso Gran Maestria lets you customize the espresso to appease all parties. The two volume controls at the front of the Nespresso Gran Maestria let you pick between a 25, 30, 40, and 50 ml espresso cup and a 70, 90, 110, and 130 ml cup of long, black coffee. You can also choose between hot and cold milk and froth thickness by using the dial on the right side of the machine.
Some helpful features for customers include the Nespresso Gran Maestria's cup warmer on the left side and automatic shutoff after nine minutes.
