Between store closings and lower production because of the coronavirus outbreak, many retailers are struggling. But some are using this time as an opportunity to give back to their communities. From raising money to donate to food banks and other charities to using their factories and materials to make masks and other essential supplies, these retailers have found a way to do good in a time of uncertainty.
If you want to support these brands—or take part in their donations—we've rounded up 20 popular retailers that are giving back during the coronavirus pandemic, from Nordstrom to Popsockets.
1. Alice + Olivia
Alice + Olivia is both selling and donating masks.
If you’re looking to purchase your own face mask, consider buying it from Alice + Olivia. The Staceface Protective Face Mask is selling for just $10, and for every mask sold, the company will donate one to communities in need. The masks are currently on pre-order, but are expected to ship on April 15.
2. Allbirds
These comfortable sneakers are being donated to hospital workers.
Allbirds sells insanely popular wool sneakers—as well as comfortable flats—that you’ll probably want to incorporate with your new loungewear and working from home attire. If you decide to get a pair, the purchase is even sweeter. The company launched a “Better Together” campaign where if you buy a pair of shoes, you can opt to donate a pair to healthcare workers, too. So far, the retailer has given $500,000 worth of shoes.
3. Billie
Billie is allocating its usual donations to food banks across the country.
The women’s razor subscription service that we’ve both tested and loved is giving us another reason to try it out. The company already donates 1% of its revenue, but Billie is currently allocating those funds to food banks across America who are serving those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
4. Carhartt
This outdoorsy retailer is using select factories to make hospital gowns and masks.
Carhartt makes the best work gloves we’ve ever tested, but some of their factories are switching gears in light of the coronavirus outbreak. The retailer has redirected its factories in Kentucky and Tennessee to make gowns and masks that will be donated to medical workers.
5. Casetify
Buy a phone sanitizing device while donating one.
Here at Reviewed, we’re obsessed with Casetify’s personalized phone cases, but the company also makes a UV Sanitizer device that you might find particularly useful at this time. It claims to remove 99.9% of germs that live on your phone's surface, plus 100 percent of the proceeds from this product go to GlobalGiving's Coronavirus Relief Fund, which will send medical responders, essential supplies, and food to communities in need. You should also note that this product won’t ship until the last week of April.
6. Chewy
Pet essentials are being provided to animal welfare groups with the help of Chewy.
Aside from being one of the best places to order bulk pet supplies, Chewy has embarked on a philanthropic mission in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The company is partnering with GreaterGood.org to donate more than $1.7 million to animal welfare organizations severely affected by the economic impact of the disease for pet food, healthcare supplies, and other essential products.
7. Crocs
Crocs are essential for essential workers.
VSCO girls aren’t the only ones who love Crocs—the rubber shoes are also essential footwear for healthcare workers. The company has pledged to donate 10,000 pairs of shoes per day to medical professionals in response to coronavirus. You can also opt to donate a pair of workwear Crocs for 30% off, too.
8. Dyson
Dyson invented a ventilator and is donating some.
Aside from producing some of the best vacuums and air purifiers on the market, Dyson is now making ventilators dubbed the CoVent. They will be producing 15,000 of them and will donate 5,000 to international efforts to tackle the pandemic.
9. Fanatics
While jerseys won't be made, masks will be.
Similar to Carhartts, Fanatics has suspended its production on jerseys and is instead using the polyester mesh fabric to make masks and gowns. These will be donated to hospitals in Pennsylvania and other nearby states.
10. Frye
Frye has partnered with Feeding America during the coronavirus outbreak.
Popular boot and shoe company Frye is partnering with Feeding America to help food banks across the country. For every Hope Crossbody sold, Frye will donate $100 to Feeding America. Alternatively, you can donate directly through Fyre with every $1 donation equaling 10 meals. You can also get 30% off your purchase if you donate $10 and enter the code FIGHTHUNGER30.
11. Good American
This Kardashian brand is partnering with Baby2Baby.
Khole Kardashian’s clothing brand, Good American, will be donating a portion of their profits to Baby2Baby, to provide children living in poverty with the necessities they need in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Additionally, you can get 30% off full priced items and 40% markdowns.
12. Hugo Boss
Hugo Boss is using their factories to make essential products.
Instead of producing suits and other clothing items, Hugo Boss has dedicated its clothing production site to manufacture 180,000 face masks at this time. These masks will be donated to various public facilities. Additionally, 20% of its US sales will be donated to the American Red Cross up to $100,000.
13. Nordstrom
Nordstrom is working to help make masks during this uncertain time.
The department store, which hosts one of our favorite shopping events (the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale), is another retailer devoting resources for mask production. Nordstrom is teaming up with Kaas Tailored to have their Alterations teams in Washington, Oregon, Texas and California sew more than 100,000 masks. Once made, these masks will be sanitized and donated to Providence Health & Services.
14. Otherland
These cute candles are helping local food banks.
The Instagramable candle company Otherland is donating 10% of its sales to local food banks in New York City. Better yet, you can save 10% on your purchase—a.k.a. the donation—with the code SUNSHINE at checkout.
15. PopSockets
These special PopSockets support their respective charities.
We love PopSockets products for their versatility, functionality, and fun designs. The company has created two new grip designs, Doctors without Borders and Feeding America, which you can order. 100 percent of the profits for each PopGrips will be donated to their respective charity.
16. Reformation
Not only is Reformation selling masks, but the company is also donating them.
Reformation, a popular sustainable fashion retailer, is partnering with the City of LA and LA Protects partner factories to make masks for essential workers. In addition to this, the retailer will be selling masks on its site, or you can opt to purchase masks to donate instead.
17. SummerSalt
The popular swimsuit brand is partnering with No Kid Hungry.
Not only does SummerSalt make a popular swimsuit that people were obsessed with last summer, but they also make cozy loungewear we want to live in right now. On top of that, the company is donating $15 from every order over $125 to No Kid Hungry to ensure that children are adequately fed.
18. The Body Shop
This cleansing company is devoted to giving people the cleaning products they need.
In an effort to give everyone access to the cleaning supplies that will help people protect themselves from coronavirus, The Body Shop will be donating 30,000 units of cleansing products. These soaps and washes will go to local shelters and senior communities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
19. Theragun
You can buy a massage gun while supporting Feeding America.

Not only is Under Armour donating money, but the company is also using resources to construct masks.
The popular activewear company is contributing to philanthropic efforts in a few ways. Under Armour pledged a one million dollar donation to Feeding America and a one million dollar donation to Good Sports, to provide youth sports leagues with equipment and apparel.
