Using data from Google, furniture company Living Spaces found the most searched-for home decor item in each state. From pretty mirrors in California to chic wall art in Florida, these are the most popular home accessories across the country—plus our experts' favorite places to buy them online.

The best places to buy home decor online
Most stores have online stores that you can browse (and shop) from home.

When you think of Home Depot, you likely think of nuts and bolts—not pretty decorations. But our managing editor, Meghan Kavanaugh, (who admits she was skeptical at first) says she's been consistently impressed by the popular hardware store's home furnishings. "They have everything from art prints to decorative trays to cozy throw blankets—none of which even hint at the fact that you can buy lumber a few aisles over," she says.
Wayfair
Like many people, Meghan is a big fan of Wayfair thanks to its immense inventory and reasonable prices. "Area rugs, beds, couches, stools—you name it and Wayfair probably has dozens of options to choose from," she raves, noting that she once personally snagged a great deal on a side table that fit perfectly in a tricky nook of her apartment.
Anthropologie
Anthropologie certainly isn't cheap—but its stylish and well-made pieces can be well worth the splurge, Meghan says. "I’ve found Anthropologie is the perfect place to find small accents that can make a big difference in the overall look of a room," she explains. "Even just a trinket dish or lamp in the right spot in your living room can elevate any décor to the next level. They also have adorable kitchenware that’s cute enough to leave out on the counter if you lack storage space."
And if you aren't willing to spend that much? Anthropologie is known to have great sales so Meghan recommends keeping an eye out for markdowns on your favorite pieces.

How to buy home decor online
The key to successful online shopping when it comes to home decor is accurate measurements, according to Meghan. "Measure your space, check the dimensions of the product online, and then do it again just to be sure," she suggests, particularly for bulkier items like rugs or wall art since it can be a pain to return them.
Make sure you also do your research beforehand, from reading reviews to looking at photos that other customers have uploaded. "I try my best to find user photos of décor items before I purchase to see if the color and size really looks like the professional product shots," Meghan explains.
