It's finally happening: We have an OLED TV in our office, waiting to be examined, tested, and watched. Samsung's KN55S9C OLED (organic light emitting diode) TV is a big deal, and not just because it has a curved screen. This display, along with LG's 55EA9800, is our first glimpse into a revolutionary new technology that will (hopefully) make TV shows and movies look better than ever.
With an MSRP of $9,999.99, Samsung's 55-inch beauty doesn't come cheap—but first-gen tech never does. In five years time, we'll have much better OLED TVs that cost a fraction as much. But right now? This is as good as it gets. One thing is for sure, though, fancy price tags or not: Unpacking one of these things isn't glamorous. Enjoy.
