Let's be honest: The sound quality that comes from modern TVs (even the brand new OLED) typically isn’t that great. TVs these days have built-in speakers that are often too small and are not well-placed on the TV, which causes poor sound projection and quality. So if you really want to be immersed in whatever you're watching (cough Game of Thrones cough), you're going to want to give your TV a major upgrade with a soundbar. Thankfully, you don’t have to spend too much on an incredible one.

We loved this soundbar during our tests because, for less than $200, you can get a reasonable soundbar/external subwoofer combo that sounds incredible while looking sleek. It also has Bluetooth (naturally), different modes for movies, music, or night audio, and three different "Clear Voice" settings to make watching TV shows and movies more enjoyable whether your hearing isn't as sharp as it used to be or you have noisy kids or you live on a busy street.
When it comes to listening to music, we also found that the Polk soundbar had a great bass that was clear and distortion-free. Even better, when we cranked up the volume, there wasn’t any distortion or imbalanced frequencies—unlike many entry-level soundbars.
Basically, using a soundbar will make watching the Game of Thrones finale, Beyonce’s Homecoming or the latest playoff game that much better. While there are more expensive soundbars out there that offer more of a surround sound experience, we still think the Polk soundbar is a great option for most people, especially with this massive discount.
