If you're an Xbox gamer, you're aware of the allure of Microsoft's Xbox One X console: the company claims it's the most powerful Xbox ever made, and we're inclined to believe 'em. The Xbox One X is the only version of the console to allow for native 4K output and HDR support, and it can even enhance older games (via a process appropriately called "Xbox One X Enhanced").

Of course, the fun thing about a console that supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) and 4K resolution is that you also need a 4K/HDR TV to appreciate it. While this can make for an expensive investment from the get-go—the Xbox One X is already pretty pricey—it's not as expensive as you might think to upgrade to a fully 4K/HDR capable Xbox rig.

Here's a short, sweet list of our favorite TVs to pair with your fancy new Xbox One X console. Most of them are 2018 models, but they're still excellent 4K/HDR sets with lower-than-average input lag. And most of them won't wreck your bank account, either.

65-inch TCL 6 Series (2018)

In 2018, TCL's 6 Series was one of our favorite 4K/HDR TVs.

Not only was it very affordable for being such an excellent performer, but it got much brighter and delivered better HDR color saturation than a lot of what's available in this price range.

Almost more important than the 4K/HDR screen for Xbox One X players, though, is that the 6 Series delivers good input lag results in both SDR and HDR modes. You can read the full review to find out more.

If you think the 65-inch TCL 6 Series from above sounds good, but don't want to spend quite as much (or want a smaller TV for some reason), the 55-inch is the way to go.

You're getting the same 4K resolution, High Dynamic Range compatibility, built-in Roku platform, and good input lag, but just in a smaller size and for less money. Check out the TCL 6 Series review for more info.

75-inch Vizio P-Series (2018)

If you want to go real big but get something that's great at 4K, HDR, and gaming, the 75-inch Vizio P-Series is still a great choice.

While not as good as the 65-inch "Quantum" P-Series from last year, the 75-inch P-Series still has a bunch of local dimming zones, great contrast, and of course is a great choice for pairing with an Xbox One X. Check out the full review.

65-inch Vizio P-Series (2018)

One step down in the 2018 P-Series, the 65-inch version delivers similar performance and about the same specs: it's just smaller (and cheaper).

This is the size of P-Series we actually tested in our lab last year, and we're very confident in its picture quality and ability to keep input lag numbers low while you're using it with your Xbox One X. Check out the full review for more information.

The smallest size in the 2018 P-Series is, of course, also a good choice for Xbox One X gamers.

While the P-Series TVs differ in their performance value a bit based on the amount of local dimming zones behind the screen, we expect the smallest size (this one) to perform up to the same standards as the larger 65- and 75-inch sizes. Check out the full review for more info about zone count.
