This year, the Super Bowl pits the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs against one another to see which team reigns supreme. While the players are gearing up for the game of a lifetime, many of us will host Super Bowl watch parties with friends and family to celebrate the football fanfare. And others of us, myself included, are just there for the delicious spread of Super Bowl snacks and dips.
Whatever your cause for celebration on Super Bowl Sunday, throwing an awesome party requires some pre-planning, like making sure you have enough bowls for all of the snacks and, of course, the best soundbar so everyone can hear the game loud and clear.
Super Bowl LIV takes place on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. So, while the party hasn’t started yet, there’s no time like the present to start ordering everything you need to host an amazing Super Bowl party.
1. A big TV so you can watch the game
First things first, you’re going to need a big TV that can keep up with all of the fast-paced events from the game, like VIZIO P-Series Quantum 65-inch Class TV.
While most TVs have a 60 Hz refresh rate, this one features a 120 Hz refresh rate, which means the motion is much clearer. Essentially, you’ll have better visibility during fast-motion scenes as you’ll see during the Super Bowl, and that’s a big win for all of your party guests.
2. A high-quality soundbar so everyone can hear the referee
Looking for a premium companion to amplify the sound of your new TV? Our favorite soundbar for under $200, the Polk Audio Signa S2 Ultra-Slim Universal TV Sound Bar
is a perfect choice that delivers crisp and clear audio to the whole room.
3. A 100-pack of sweet and savory snacks so your guests can grub on the couch
Dips, chili, and wings are Super Bowl party staples, but it doesn't hurt to have an assortment of easy-to-eat foods like cookies, crackers, popcorn, and more for your party guests to choose from. Luckily, you don't even have to brave the cold to go to the grocery store because you can order this mega snack pack on Amazon and have it delivered right to your door.
4. A nugget ice machine so you can make everyone’s favorite ice cubes
Dentists may advise against chewing ice cubes, but nugget ice is a soft, chewable form of frozen water that (most likely) won’t cause damage to your teeth—and it’s fun to eat. Your guests will be impressed with the option to add restaurant-quality ice to their drinks on game day.
5. Our favorite cooler for hosting a backyard watch party
The OtterBox Venture 45 is the best cooler you can buy because it has a large, 45-quart capacity and includes a dry storage tray and bottle opener for guests to use. It’s ideal for storing extra drinks until you're ready to replenish your supply. And, this cooler's lifespan (obviously) extends well past your Super Bowl party thanks to its limited lifetime warranty.
6. Our favorite Echo speaker so you can check the score from another room
If you’re hosting a Super Bowl party, you most likely won’t be seated in front of the TV the entire game. When you’re busy taking appetizers out of the oven and grabbing another roll of paper towels for the party, ask Alexa to keep you up-to-date with the latest Super Bowl scores and stats. With our favorite Echo speaker, the Echo (third-generation), you can ask, "Alexa, what's the Super Bowl score?"
7. The best paper towels so you can clean up spills
Accidents happen, and you need the best paper towels on hand to sop up the mess. We put Bounty Select-A-Size to the test and found it lives up to its "quicker picker upper" claim. It's strong and thick, so you can quickly clean up spilled drinks and more.
8. A party-size pack of eco-friendly plates and cutlery
Food is an essential part of an awesome Super Bowl party, and you’re going to need a steady supply of plates and utensils so everyone can snack through the fourth quarter. The Fuyit dinnerware set comes with 250 pieces of disposable paper plates in two sizes (9-inches and 7-inches), 50 forks, 50 knives, and 50 spoons. It’s easy to accumulate a lot of waste at a big party, so we love that these plates claim to be made from “compostable and biodegradable material.”
9. Extra serving dishes to hold an array of snacks and dips
Super Bowl parties are known for their delicious dips, endless chip bowls, and other delectable appetizers and bite-sized snacks. Since you’ll be serving more than one type of food (and you probably have guests bringing over snacks to share), it never hurts to be prepared with plenty of serveware. This four-pack of plastic serving trays is an affordable way to display a variety of foods for all to enjoy.
It’s good to have options when it comes to serving up Super Bowl Snacks, which is why we like this three-tier collapsible bowl stand. It has enough room for chips, crackers, and nuts if you're tight on counter space. And, this Football Stadium Chip and Dip Sports Serving Set gets an honorable mention for its awesome design.
10. An indoor grill so you can whip up burgers and hot dogs without stepping outside
11. Football-themed party supplies so you can have a well-decorated space
Amazon has everything you need when it comes to curating a fun and inviting Super Bowl party space. While you can’t transform your living room into a football stadium, you can buy Super Bowl LIV decorations like tablecloths that look like football fields, a Super Bowl banner to hang up above your spread of food, and a three-pack of football-shaped balloons.
Oh, and this Super Bowl Photo Booth Props Kit is full of fun accessories that will make your Instagram posts look extra sporty.
12. The best Instant Pot so you can make delicious dips
Pressure cookers are an easy way to make food with little mess—and they’re the perfect appliance for cooking one-pot Super Bowl snacks like buffalo chicken dip, spinach and artichoke dip, and more. You can also use our favorite pressure cooker, the Instant Pot Ultra, to whip up a hearty bowl of game day chili.
13. Extra chairs so that everyone has a spot to sit
Depending on the size of your party, you may need a few extra seats to accommodate your guests. For under $50, this four-pack of steel chairs are a great deal. And, the chairs easily fold up so you can pack them away to use again at your next party.
14. A stack of paper cups that look like footballs
You probably don’t have enough glassware for all of your party guests, so this 50-pack of paper cups that look just like football fields is perfect to have on hand at your Super Bowl party. Make sure to have a few permanent markers nearby so guests can write their name on their cup.
15. The best portable projector so you can watch the game outside
If you’ve got a large outdoor deck or patio space (and you live in a part of the country that experiences warm winters, like Florida or parts of southern California), hosting your Super Bowl party outside can be the way to go. But, in order to see the big game out back, you’re going to need the Anker Nebula Mars II, which just so happens to be the best portable projector you can buy. Your guests will be impressed with its portability, performance quality, and luminescent night time picture. Don’t forget to order an outdoor projection screen, like this 100-inch option.
