Let’s be honest: deciding what to put on your wedding registry can be overwhelming. There are endless appliances options, kitchen gadgets, and the like to navigate through as an engaged couple who has no idea what they need. It can be challenging to know exactly what’s worth adding to your wedding registry—or to purchase a wedding gift.
The Bed Bath and Beyond gift registry is a handy tool where both to-be-married couples can register and guests can shop for wedding gifts at. But to help you decide what to actually put on it, we’ve rounded up 15 popular wedding registry gifts that are sold at Bed Bath and Beyond that we've tested and love. From the iconic KitchenAid stand mixer to a Dutch oven, these are 15 wedding registry items that you’ll actually love and use.
1. An easy-to-use coffee and espresso machine
The coffee-obsessed among us will need a fancy coffee machine in their new home. Aside from saving you money as newlyweds (buying coffee can seriously add up), the Nespresso VertuoPlus also makes delicious coffee and espresso and arrives with a wide selection of flavors to choose from. It’s our favorite single-serve coffee machine, too, since it’s compact (it can be stored seamlessly on small counters) and brews quickly.
2. The iconic KitchenAid stand mixer
The incredible KitchenAid stand mixer is pretty much on everyone’s wedding registry. Despite its many competitors, the KitchenAid mixer is still the best stand mixer we’ve tested because it’s durable, easy to set up and use, and has a super quiet motor. You can also purchase a myriad of attachments—like a pasta maker, meat grinder, and vegetable spiralizer—to take the mixer to the next level. Plus, it comes in a wide array of gorgeous colors to match literally any decor.
3. A stainless steel set of pots and pans
A good, high-quality set of pots and pans is a necessity for all newlyweds and will last for years. This Cuisinart cookware set is our top pick because it’s made of durable stainless steel, cooks food evenly due to its triple-ply construction, and is easy to handle—i.e. they aren’t too heavy. And it comes with everything you need to cook a meal—two saucepans, a stockpot, a medium-sized sauté pan, two skillets, and a steamer insert.
4. A cult-favorite Instant Pot
There are so many reasons why we, like so many people, are obsessed with the Instant Pot. It’s a great addition to any wedding registry as it has excellent cooking performance and can cook an entire meal in just 20 minutes, which is great for busy newlyweds. And, it makes a great all-in-one kitchen gadget as it can steam, slow cook, pressure cook, and sauté. The Duo Plus model is one of our favorite pressure cookers that we found is ideal for novice home cooks.
5. A versatile Dutch oven
The possibilities of what the newlyweds can cook in this Dutch oven are endless—think braising meat, cooking vegetables, simmering a stew, and so much more. It’s a staple for any new kitchen as it cooks food evenly and provides a large pan for cooking in the oven or sautéing on the stove. Since it’s easy to clean, perfectly round, and sturdily built, this Staub Dutch oven aced everything in our testing, which is why we named it our favorite dutch oven.
6. A timeless knife set
When you think of wedding registries, knives might not be first the thing that comes to mind as most people have some sort of cutlery. But, a good set is essential for a new couple to establish their own kitchen. Think about it—knives are used in just about every kitchen task from chopping vegetables to spatchcocking a chicken, so you want tools that can do these things efficiently. Here at Reviewed, we recommend this Zwilling knife set for its comfortable use, super sharp knives, and inclusion of 19 different knives that any starter kitchen would appreciate.
7. A cordless vacuum cleaner to easily clean up messes
There’s nothing a new home needs more than a cordless vacuum. Portable and easy-to-use, this Dyson vacuum is our favorite cordless vacuum as it has powerful suction and a great battery life. Plus, it has a handy LCD screen on the back that will let you know exactly how much battery life you have left, so you’ll never have to worry about the battery dying while in use.
8. An air fryer to make the crispiest vegetables
Air fryers are one of the hottest kitchen gadgets for so many reasons. They cook things quickly, make the crispiest foods, and help you make fried-tasting foods without all the unhealthy fat or oil. Our favorite air fryer is this one from Philips as it’s super easy to use, has a large capacity (it can feed an entire family), and whips up the crispiest, crunchiest food with minimal effort.
9. A durable cast-iron skillet
Reasonably priced and incredibly durable, cast-iron skillets are a great addition to any newly married couple’s kitchen. While giving food the perfect crisp—without sticking, I might add—they can cook a wide array of foods quickly and deliciously with minimal clean-up. After testing a plethora of cast-iron skillets, we found that we love this enameled one from Staub the most. It has a gorgeous enamel finish in a wide array of colors, pours out drippings easily, and is dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.
10. A large food processor to make chopping easier
Food processors make tedious kitchen tasks less time-consuming. If you’re a couple who loves to entertain, a food processor will save you tons of time on tasks like chopping onions, slicing vegetables, and kneading dough. This one from Cuisinart does all those things effortlessly, which is why it’s our favorite food processor. Its compact size can be stored practically anywhere (it’s only 16-inches-tall and can fit under a cabinet) and is light enough to pull easily.
11. An aesthetically pleasing kitchen garbage can
I know what you’re thinking: A garbage can on a wedding registry? But, truth be told, it’s something the majority of couples need for their kitchen. This one with its sleek design and stainless finish is our favorite kitchen trash can because it fits in tight spaces and repels fingerprints. It also has a 10-year warranty that’ll ensure they won’t need to shell out money on a new trash can for a while.
12. A space-saving waffle maker
There are a ton of waffle makers out there to add to a wedding registry, which makes finding the best one a challenge. After some rigorous testing, this Cuisinart waffle maker is our favorite because it makes great waffles, doesn’t overflow, and is easy to scoop the perfect amount of batter into. Plus it’s great for small spaces, too, since it stands up vertically and can be stored on the back or side of your counter.
13. A bread machine to make a warm, crunchy loaf
Store-bought bread is fine, but homemade tastes way better. Just ask anyone who made it in quarantine. Even if the newlyweds aren’t bakers, a bread maker allows them to enjoy a warm, crunchy loaf of bread with the press of a single button. This one from Breville is our favorite bread maker as it has an easy-to-use display, efficient kneading paddle, and great color on crust—i.e. it can be just as golden or dark as you’d like.
14. A robot vacuum that’s always cleaning
A clean home is the key to a happy marriage—or so I assume since a "happy wife equals a happy life." The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the best robot vacuum we’ve ever tested because of its powerful dirt pick-up and ability to clean all types of floors. It also has some neat features too like the ability to select which rooms it should and shouldn’t clean and how it can empty its dirt bin into its charging port.
15. A non-stick cookware set
If stainless steel isn’t your thing, opt for a non-stick cookware set instead. This 12-piece T-fal set is our favorite because it heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and is oven-safe. The best part? All the cookware has ergonomic handles that are not only easy to hold, but also comfortable to handle.
