Last year, Dacor introduced us to its Discovery iQ Dual-Fuel Range. At CES 2015, the premium appliance manufacturer showed off a new weapon in its smart kitchen arsenal: voice command technology.

Revealed today at CES Unveiled, the new feature is available on any Dacor smart appliances that are running the Dacor iQ Remote App. The app has many functions, allowing the home cook to watch cooking tutorials, control and monitor their oven remotely, or toggle automatic settings like warming mode and text alerts.

Home chefs often have their hands full, either during food prep or while entertaining guests. With the addition of voice recognition, Dacor greatly ramps up the convenience factor, allowing users to cook their food without being tied to their kitchens.

Dacor says that voice activation will be available in spring 2015 in all Discovery iQ products. This line includes 48” and 36” Dual-Fuel ranges, along with single and double wall ovens.

A $12,000 beast of an oven

The company didn’t bring any new appliances to CES Unveiled, but the returning 48” Dual-Fuel Range it used to demo the new tech is already quite impressive. It features two electric ovens with ten cook modes, a gas cooktop, soft-close hinges, steam self-clean, and a $11,999 price tag.
