Haier isn’t exactly a household name in America, even though it's huge in Asia and a rising force in Europe. You probably know the company for its air conditioners and wine fridges, if at all. Unless, that is, you live in an apartment decked out with Haier’s line of appliances designed specifically for small living spaces.
At CES 2016, Haier showed that it's ready to take a seat at the grown-ups' table, with a suite of full-size kitchen appliances. We had a chance to check out the dual-fuel range, built-in dishwasher, French-door fridge, and double wall oven.
The best part? The full-size kitchen setup was positioned right next to the apartment-sized one, and the former literally looked like a super-sized version of the latter. It looked like someone used Photoshop to change the size of an entire kitchen.
This full-size, bottom-mount French door has an external ice dispenser and LED interior lighting. Its exterior has a stainless-steel finish and protruding handlebars that gently curve outwards.
This double wall convection oven uses a 1,400-watt concealed heating element. Its stainless-steel finish and handlebars match the design of Haier’s other full-size kitchen appliances.
This range has five burners and a 3.8-cubic-foot oven cavity. The knobs had a pleasantly heavy and sturdy feel in our hands, and once again, the exterior is made of stainless steel.
This dishwasher features a touch-sensitive control panel mounted on top of a minimalist stainless-steel door. The interior contains some useful adjustable parts, such as a third rack, height adjustment for the middle rack, and a vast number of foldable tines.
