The Smeg FAB28 ‘50s Retro Style refrigerator (MSRP $1,999) has been a darling of interior designers worldwide since it first hit the market a decade ago.

In the U.S., however, the fridge has been slow to catch on, mostly due to its small size. There’s only 9.22 cu. ft. of total capacity, and frozen food is relegated into a tiny compartment behind the single fridge door.

Now, U.S. consumers can get an American-sized dose of the same classic style. The all-new Smeg FAB32 (MSRP $2,999) is more than 20 percent larger than the FAB28, and adds a separate 3.5-cu.-ft. freezer below the 8.2-cu.-ft. refrigerator.

In addition to its striking retro style, the FAB32 also comes with some modern conveniences:

• 2 adjustable thermostats • Interior lighting • 3 adjustable glass shelves • 3 produce bins • Egg and bottle holders

The Italian-made FAB32 will come in eight colors—pink, pastel blue, cream, white, black, red, orange, and pastel green—all of which match Smeg’s other ‘50s Retro Style appliances. It’s on sale now, but must be ordered direct from the factory in either left- or right-hinged variants.
