One year ago, Blizzard Entertainment took PAX East by storm when it launched the digital card game Hearthstone. The game soon blew up in the online gaming community, thanks to its fast-paced, easy-to-learn gameplay. In doing so it took tabletop gaming into the future, letting you collect cards, build decks, and battle players around the world all on your PC.

Now, Blizzard is bringing its addicting card game to even more devices. Android tablet owners in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand can now download the game for free at the Google Play Store, while a worldwide release on Google Play and the Amazon Appstore is due to hit sometime in the next few days.

A version of Hearthstone was released for Apple's iPad last year, but smartphones and Android tablets are the newest targets.

Android users will have access to all of the features and content available in the Windows, Mac, and iPad versions of the game–including the first expansion, Goblins vs. Gnomes.

“Hearthstone’s intuitive interface and approachable design make it a perfect fit for tablets, and we’ve put a lot of effort into ensuring players have a great experience on a wide range of Android devices,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re excited to welcome Android players to the Hearthstone community, and we’re looking forward to bringing the game to even more mobile platforms—including phones—in the future.”

Yep, smartphone users will be getting a seat at the Hearthstone, too. Blizzard reps stated in a panel at PAX East 2015 that a mobile version of the game is currently being tested internally, with plans to release later this year on both iPhones and Android handsets.

Players will soon be able to play each other on PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone while sharing one account across all platforms.

The end result is that Hearthstone addicts will soon be able to play each other on PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone while sharing one account across all platforms. This newfound accessibility and portability can only add to the game's ever-growing popularity.
