Gearing up for the yearly mega trade show CP+, Tamron announced two new compact zoom lenses, each with incredible, superzoom-like reach.

The first lens features an 18.8x zoom range, called the 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Macro. For those of you keeping score at home, that's a 24.8-450mm 35mm-equivalent range. Designed exclusively for APS-C DSLRs, this lens is only 3.9-inches long and 2.9-inches tall, incredibly compact for its capabilities. Featuring optical image stabilization, moisture-resistant design and a minimum focusing distance of 15.35 inches. Versions with EF-mount and F-mount, and an IS-less version for A-mount will be available. Pricing and retail availability haven't been announced quite yet.

For full-frame DSLRs comes the slightly less exciting Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD lens. That's 10.7X optical zoom in a package that's even smaller than the 16-300mm version—it's only 3.8-inches long. Available in IS-less Sony, Nikon, and Canon versions, this lens also has yet to be priced and availability will be announced later on.
