Pros

  • Laser navigation

  • Forward facing sensors

  • Tons of smart features

Cons

  • None that we could find

This is also a good robot vacuum to get if you’re interested in trying out a smart robot vacuum with more advanced features. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track where the robot has been, and even draw zones on a digital map to ensure it stays within a certain area. You can even tell the L70 to go over an area multiple times.

The Eufy follows the right path

The Eufy L70's cleaning path makes sure it covers every inch of the floor.

While many robot vacuums utilize a back-and-forth motion, but get tripped up by furniture and corners, leaving gaps. The L70 zig-zags, covering every square inch of the several thousand square feet we had it clean, using advanced laser navigation to stay on track. Not only did this Eufy cover the entire floor, but it also avoided bumping into chair legs and weird corners. If you clear the floor of cords, we found that it’ll never get stuck.

Sometimes you want your robot vacuum to clean the whole house and sometimes you want it to clean just a few square feet. The L70 lets you do both. With the app, you can draw zones that the robot vacuum will stay within. You can also set the vacuum to go over areas multiple times. It’s not as programmable as the iRobot i7+, but it’s good enough for spills and spot cleaning.

Over time, it can help keep your floors clean

A robot vacuum is a floor maintainer. It works best when it’s run every day to help keep your floor tidy in between manual cleanings. On average, we found that the L70 picked up around 10.8 grams of dirt per run. That adds up to 75.6 grams per week, comparable to a weekly once-over by a full-sized vacuum. Aside from picking up a lot of debris, we also found the L70 does pretty well with pet hair. Because you can draw cleaning zones, you can make sure this robot vacuum keeps away from water bowls and pet beds.

What we don’t like

A price too high for the performance

While there are more expensive robot vacuums out there, the L70 costs a lot for a Eufy. We understand that this model represents a huge leap for the company, entering the higher-end market, but there’s still some sticker shock.

A lackluster mop we could take or leave

The L70 gets a hybrid moniker because it also has a detachable mop. As a rule, it’s hard for robots to mop because they can’t really provide any elbow grease. It’s perfectly fine for dusting, but we’re not wowed by the mop. But, to be fair, we’re typically not impressed by any robot mop.

What users are saying

We got our hands on the Eufy L70 Hybrid pretty early on in its lifecycle. While user reviews are sparse, they are generally very positive. At the time of writing this review, 80% of reviewers on Amazon gave it a 4- or 5-star rating, praising its easy-to-use interface and ability to deal with pet hair.

Should you buy this robot vacuum?

If you already own a Eufy Robovac but always wanted an upgrade, this is the model to get. It solves many pain points that previous Eufy robot vacuum had, especially when it comes to keeping the automated cleaner in a given area. The L70 also boasts greater dirt pick up performance and better floor coverage. There are models like the Neato D3 that will give you digital barriers for a lower price. However, the performance and design of the L70 Hybrid makes us eager to see what Eufy comes out with next.
