Sweet Home Collection Sheet Set Review: The $30 Bedding That Outsleeps $200 Sets

The case against $30 microfiber sheet sets is the same case people made for years against $30 mattresses: at that price, the corners have to be cut somewhere. So when the Sweet Home Collection 1500-series sheet set kept coming up in our reader feedback — and on Amazon with over 200,000 ratings — we wanted to see how it actually held up next to a $200 long-staple cotton set and a $120 Tencel set. Six weeks, three queen beds, 16 wash cycles. The results upended a couple of assumptions we’d been carrying about premium bedding.

About the Sweet Home Collection 4-Piece Sheet Set

This is a four-piece microfiber sheet set — one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, two pillowcases — at the queen size. The fabric is a 1500-thread-count brushed microfiber, Oeko-Tex certified (meaning it’s been tested for harmful substances and won’t off-gas). Deep pockets up to 16 inches fit the thicker mattresses common to memory foam. The fitted sheet uses elastic all the way around — not just the corners — which is part of why the corners stay put through a night of normal movement. Hypoallergenic, machine washable on cold, tumble-dry low.

What we like about it

The biggest surprise was the hand-feel out of the package. Brushed microfiber at this price point is often slick and plasticky; this isn’t. It’s the kind of soft you usually associate with cotton sets at $100+. After six weeks of regular use and a dozen-plus wash cycles, the fabric still felt like the first night — no pilling, no thinning, no waning softness. The elastic on the fitted sheet wraps the entire perimeter, not just the corners, which sounds minor and turns out to be the single biggest QoL improvement over more expensive sheets we’ve tested.

I have eight different brands of sheets and these are the softest I own. I just bought four more sets.Verified buyer

Deep pockets that actually fit

The 16-inch pocket depth was the deciding factor for one of our testers, who has a 14-inch memory foam mattress that has eaten every standard fitted sheet she’s tried. Sweet Home’s fitted sheet went on the first time and stayed on. We tossed her bedding repeatedly to check; the corners held.

Fits my 14-inch mattress perfectly. The elastic is the best I’ve seen — corners don’t pop off.Verified buyer

What could be better

These run slightly warmer than the cotton control set we tested alongside. If you’re a chronic hot sleeper or you’re shopping for summer-only bedding, a percale cotton or Tencel set will breathe better. The other thing to know: microfiber’s durability story is good but not infinite. We’d expect noticeable pilling somewhere past the 30-wash mark, where cotton would still look fresh. At $30, of course, you can buy three sets for the price of one cotton set and still come out ahead.

Should you buy the Sweet Home Collection sheet set?

If you sleep cool-to-neutral and you’ve been waiting for a reason to stop spending $150+ on bedding, this is the reason. For guest rooms, kids’ rooms, college dorms, or a second set for your own bed during the laundry cycle, it’s basically unbeatable at the price.
