I used to spend over $100 every month going to the salon, but all that changed once I found The Mane Choice: 3-in-1 Revitalize & Refresh Conditioner. This drugstore product saved me $700 so far on pro stylist treatments. The Mane Choice is a haircare product line targeted toward natural hair, and I’m here to tell you: It works.

What is The Mane Choice?

I learned about The Mane Choice product line after seeing the founder, Courtney Adeleye, appear on The Real for a sit-down interview. Adeleye said, "If you don't find the best product on the market, why not create it?" This caught my attention. She spoke a lot in this interview about how creating her own products helped grow her own hair, and when I noticed how healthy her hair looked, I immediately wanted to buy a bottle for myself!

The Mane Choice's 3-in-1 Revitalize & Refresh Conditioner is a detangling conditioner and co-wash (a.k.a. conditioner-wash) that cleanses away product build-up, hydrates and moisturizes hair, and softens and removes knots and tangles. This product includes moisturizing ingredients such as avocado oil, aloe vera, vitamin E, and vitamin B7, which the company claims increase hair growth and eliminate hair breakage.

What's it like to use The Mane Choice 3-in-1 conditioner?

From the first time I used it, I was impressed. I applied it in the shower on my wet hair, let it soak in for two to three minutes, and rinsed. My hair is very thin and not past my shoulders, so I don't have to use an excessive amount of the product to get good results—only about a tablespoon. It feels very creamy and soothing on my scalp, it smells good, and most importantly, it makes my hair feel like it's actually getting a good clean. I feel refreshed once and rinsed it out.

What's good about The Mane Choice 3-in-1 conditioner?

The Mane Choice lists (at least) three claims as to how it can help your hair.

This product is a leave-in conditioner, so when I wash my hair with it, I have the option to leave it in instead of washing the product out. (Though I prefer to rinse.)

This product removes all dirt and excess oil and makes my hair look and feel fully hydrated. I hardly have to comb my hair, because The Mane Choice does such a good job of detangling. Once I blow-dry and flat-iron my hair, I look like I just walked out of the hair salon. Also, if I get caught in the rain, my hair doesn't tangle or become dry again—it remains soft and intact.

What’s more, I saw an inch of growth in two months of use. It helps eliminate knots and tangles, which minimized my hair breakage and lessened my overall hair damage.

I still encourage people to have regular salon visits, but this product is a time and money saver in-between appointments.

What are the drawbacks to The Mane Choice 3-in-1 conditioner?

The only drawback to this product is the size of the bottle. It's only eight ounces, which may go fast if you have longer or thicker hair than mine. I highly encourage being sparing with use, but if you are unable to, consider buying a couple bottles at a time. (That's how confident I am you'll love it.)

Is The Mane Choice 3-in-1 conditioner worth it?

My only complaint: how small the bottle is!

Finding the right hair products is subjective and what works for me may not work for you, but I strongly recommend The Mane Choice: 3-in-1 Revitalize & Refresh Conditioner for Black women and men and anyone else that has similar hair texture or struggles with dry hair, especially those who live in dry climates.

This product is a solution for people who do not want to spend a lot of time or money at the salon. It isn't too expensive, it's Black-owned, and if you are someone who prefers using a home product that keeps your hair silky, smooth, hydrated, and protected from breakage, this product could be just right for you.
