Photo Greeting Card Sales Increase

According to PMA Marketing Research, U.S. consumers produced about 230,000 more photo greeting/holiday cards in 2006 than in the previous year.

June 11, 2007 - *According to a survey conducted by the Photo Marketing Association, U.S. consumers produced about 87 percent more photo greeting/holiday cards in 2006 than in 2005. The 2007 PMA U.S. Digital Imaging Survey puts the production of photo greeting cards at about 500,000, up from 270,000 in 2005.

Of the cards produced, 26 percent were ordered online, and 31 percent were from stores. Totaling 38 percent of the market, most photo greeting cards were printed on home printers, although home printing was down 5 percent from 2005. Instant kiosk photo greeting card production rose slightly, from 13 percent in 2005 to 15 percent in 2006. Online sales also increased, from 20 percent in 2005 to 26 percent in 2006.
