November 13, 2008 - Additional information and tons of photos have been released regarding the "DSLR-killer" promised by RED Digital Cinema president Jim Jannard (see report here).  The entirely modular system will be a one-stop still and video recording device with interchangeable bodies, "brains" and lens mount (including Canon, Nikon and RED compatibility). Depending on the configuration users cobble together, still image resolution will range from 4.9 megapixels to an astronomical 261 megapixels.  And to max out the configuration possibilities, a 3D version of the camera is also displayed on the company web site. Details are sparse, and the release indicates that "specifications and delivery dates are subject to drastic changes," but the component and system photos shown here are certainly drool-worthy.
