I never knew how much I needed my iPad until I finally got one last year for my birthday. Now I can’t even remember what I did without it. My laptop seems so clunky and laborious to carry around in comparison, especially if I simply want to watch Netflix in bed or read an eBook on my commute to work. It is honestly the best gift I’ve ever received (thanks Dad, you’re the real MVP!) and one of the few things I use every day.
Currently, the latest iPad model is available for $249 on Amazon, down from its typical price of $329. This is one of the lowest prices we’ve seen, and with Mother’s Day right around the corner on May 12th, it’s the perfect time to snag an impressive gift for Mom and save some money in the process.
Moms will love using it to FaceTime with family, browse their favorite online retailers, or have a recipe in front of them while cooking. The iPad’s 9.7-inch retina display is a gamechanger for these types of activities, and it is great for glasses-wearers who would benefit from viewing such things on a larger screen than their phone.
If you’re already a fan of Apple products, then there will be no surprises with the iPad; it’s essentially just like a giant iPhone but with a longer battery life: up to 10 hours, to be exact. If not, the iPad is very intuitive and user-friendly—even my mother, who is terrible with technology (sorry, Mom, but it’s true), can navigate hers with ease.
This iPad has 32GB of space, which is more than enough for the average user. Personally what takes up most of the space on my phone is photos, and I rarely use my iPad to take pictures, so I think Mom would be more than happy with 32GB. If you do require more space though, the 128 GB version, which usually retails for $429, is slightly on sale too for $398. Also keep in mind that only the WiFi version is discounted right now, so if you want yours to have cellular data, you’ll have to spring for the more expensive version.
Lastly, sorry rose gold lovers, but currently only the gray and space gray iPads are included in this sale. But you can always also buy Mom a fun case for it, anyway.
