Most people either hate or love airports, but their surrounding hotels don’t get as much buzz. When you run into early flights, long layovers, or delayed arrivals, you might just find yourself landing in these lobbies, not knowing what to expect.

Our panel pulled together 15 airport hotels that stand out for comfort and consistency, from quick overnight stays to reliable reset spots between connections. Then we opened the polls and let readers weigh in during the Readers' Choice Awards.

The votes are in, and these are the 10 airport hotels you chose as the best in the business.

Winner: The Rose Hotel Chicago O'Hare

O'Hare International Airport

Not every standout airport stay is inside the terminal, and The Rose Hotel Chicago O’Hare proves that proximity can still come with personality. Located just minutes from ORD, with a frequent shuttle, it offers easy access without feeling like a typical airport property. The design leans modern and polished, giving the space a more elevated, boutique feel. Guests also have options beyond the room, with a well-regarded on-site restaurant and several nearby spots within walking distance. For an overnight near O’Hare, it’s a strong pick for travelers who want convenience paired with a more stylish, comfortable setting.

The enthusiasm from those who voted here was hard to miss. Comments pointed to the art throughout the hotel, the staff’s attentiveness, and a vibe that feels anything but generic. One commenter summed it up: “The Rose has unique decor you will not see anywhere else!”

Runner up: Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal

Nashville International Airport

Being able to step from the terminal straight into your hotel room isn’t common, but that’s exactly what sets Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal apart. Fully integrated into BNA, the property makes it far easier to manage tight schedules and late arrivals. Beyond the convenience, the hotel brings in a sense of place with interiors that reflect Nashville’s “Music City” character. A rooftop pool and bar—overlooking the runways—adds an unexpected layer, offering a more elevated experience than most airport stays.

Supporters called it “beautiful, elevated service and unmatched convenience,” with the rooftop pool, runway views, and Nashville skyline drawing repeated praise. One voter put the whole package simply: “Best airport hotel experience. Clean, modern, and professional staff.”

3. Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport

Orlando International Airport

Staying inside the terminal changes the experience entirely at Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport, where direct access at MCO makes early departures and late arrivals far more manageable, especially for travelers heading out on cruises. Despite that proximity, the atmosphere inside feels calm and removed once you’re in your room. Our panelists highlight the contrast, noting how features like runway-view balconies let you watch planes come and go without the usual noise or disruption. With modern, clean spaces and solid on-site dining, it’s an easy place to settle in before or after a flight.

Those who cast a vote here kept coming back to the staff. Someone said, “the team at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is the absolute best! Friendly, hospitable, and always going the extra mile.” Another noted they made it “from my room to the gate in under 15 minutes.”

4. Grand Hyatt SFO

San Francisco International Airport

Floor-to-ceiling runway views are a defining part of the stay at Grand Hyatt SFO, where guests can watch the constant movement of planes without the noise that typically comes with it. The rooms are designed to be both comfortable and quiet, creating a calm space that still feels connected to the airport's energy. Access is just as seamless—no shuttle required, with the option to walk from the terminal or take the AirTrain directly to the hotel. Our panelists also point to the dining as a highlight, noting options like an on-site restaurant, café, bar, and 24-hour room service that make it easy to settle in and relax between flights.

Voters backed that assessment across the board, with one putting it memorably: “The airport is an aesthetic background rather than a nuisance. They have truly embraced the location.” Others highlighted the AirTrain access, the Quail + Crane restaurant, and service that felt “phenomenal” even by non-airport standards.

5. Westin Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport

Location is everything at The Westin Denver International Airport, where the hotel sits directly connected to DEN—an especially valuable perk given how far the airport is from the city. Being just outside security makes early departures, late arrivals, and even longer layovers far easier to manage. Inside, the experience leans into comfort and space, with quiet rooms and wide-open views that give the property a more elevated feel than a typical airport stay. Our panelists also point to the signature Westin Heavenly Beds as a standout, offering a genuinely restful reset between flights.

Guests who voted for Westin Denver were vocal about what kept them coming back. Check out this anecdote: “those beds!!! Can’t hear a thing and connected to terminal!!” while others pointed to the swimming pool, hot tub, and Colorado views as unexpected highlights for an airport property.

6. Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport

Detroit Metro Airport

A stay at The Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport comes with a rare advantage: a private TSA security entrance that lets guests move from hotel to gate without the usual airport lines. Located inside the McNamara Terminal at DTW, it’s built for travelers who value both time and simplicity. Even with that level of access, the hotel doesn’t sacrifice comfort. Its soundproofing stands out, creating a noticeably quiet environment despite the constant movement just outside. The result is a stay that feels calm and controlled, even in the middle of a busy international terminal.

The results reflected a loyal following; multiple comments called out “the quietest rooms ever” and praised the staff for being consistently clean, friendly, and professional. One commenter said, “Can’t beat the location and comfort.”

7. Cedarbrook Lodge

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

Cedarbrook Lodge is just a short, two-minute shuttle ride from SEA, but the setting feels far removed from a typical airport stay. Situated on 18 acres of lush wetlands, the property offers a quieter, more secluded atmosphere that stands out in a category usually defined by convenience over character. The experience leans into that sense of escape, with farm-to-table dining and a full-service spa contributing to its consistently high guest satisfaction. It’s the kind of place travelers return to more than once, thanks to how easily it balances proximity to the airport with a setting that doesn’t feel like one. Voters who chose Cedarbrook kept it brief but telling—“beautiful,” said one, while another described “the people and how clean and beautiful this place is.”

8. TWA Hotel New York

John F. Kennedy International Airport

Housed in the iconic former TWA Flight Center, TWA Hotel New York brings a completely different kind of stay to JFK. The property leans fully into its 1960s aviation roots, with design details that feel more like a museum than a traditional airport hotel, while still offering direct access to the terminals. Our panelists highlight the experience as a destination in itself, from the rooftop infinity pool overlooking the runway to a restored aircraft turned cocktail bar. Despite the constant activity outside, the rooms are fully soundproofed, creating a quiet, comfortable retreat. It’s a rare combination of convenience, nostalgia, and standout amenities that goes well beyond a typical overnight stay. The rooftop was a recurring theme among those who voted; one called it “one of the best places to linger with a cocktail while watching planes land and take off,” with “awesome views” to match.

9. Grand Hyatt DFW

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport

At Grand Hyatt DFW, the experience is shaped as much by what you see as what you don’t hear. Guests can watch planes take off and land up close—something that, ironically, few airport hotels offer—while still enjoying fully soundproofed rooms that create a quiet, comfortable retreat once inside. Our panelists highlight this contrast as what makes the property stand out. The hotel feels polished and well-appointed throughout, with dining that goes beyond the basics and a location that keeps everything within easy reach at DFW. For travelers with an overnight stay or a tight connection, it’s a reliable choice that doesn’t sacrifice comfort for convenience.

10. EB Hotel Miami

Miami International Airport

EB Hotel Miami offers a boutique, design-forward stay minutes from MIA, bringing a level of polish that’s not always expected from airport hotels. The property stands out for its attention to detail, from its sleek interiors to its exceptional soundproofing, which helps create a noticeably quieter, more restful environment. Our panelists note that EB Hotel consistently ranks among the highest-rated properties near MIA, with a gourmet restaurant and overall experience that feels closer to a 5-star stay than a typical overnight stop. For travelers who want convenience without giving up comfort or style, it’s a standout in the area.
