The holiday season always brings a fresh wave of must-have toys, and 2025 is no exception. This year’s lineup is packed with buzzworthy playthings kids will be begging for.
We did the homework for you, rounding up the 10 hottest toys of 2025—plus a few fantastic backups in case the top picks are sold out by the time you start shopping.
1. Care Bears x Wicked Boxed Set
With the Wicked for Good movie out now, anything Wicked-themed is practically guaranteed to wow the musical theater lover on your list. This Care Bears x Wicked collab is especially charming: Love-a-Lot Bear is dressed as Glinda, while Good Luck Bear rocks Elphaba’s iconic black hat.
No luck with the Care Bears, or want something a little more out-of-the-box? Send the Wicked lover on your list a Wicked Teddy Bear Elphaba Gift Set from Build-A-Bear. You can opt to have it delivered already stuffed and dressed, or put it together yourself right at home.
2. Bluey and Bingo Supermarket Playset
It wouldn’t be the holidays without a new must-have Bluey playset. The Bluey and Bingo Supermarket Playset has three levels full of interactive fun. There are working escalators, beeping registers, and even an intercom system. It comes with both Bluey and Bingo figurines, along with 14 other accessories, such as shopping carts and groceries.
For younger Bluey fans who aren’t quite old enough for the Supermarket Playset, the Camper Magnetic Tile Set is a great option. Kids can use the magnetic tiles to build the Heeler family jeep and camper, and there’s even a light-up campfire.
3. Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart Bundle
The newest version of the Nintendo Switch, the Switch 2, has been released right on time for the holidays, and it’s sure to be the gift every video game lover will have on their list. The Switch 2 has better visuals, better performance, and built-in game chat. This bundle includes both the system and a full game download of Mario Kart World, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.
4. LEGO Technic Ferrari FXX K Toy Car
One of the most impressive LEGO builds we’ve seen, the Technic Ferrari FXX K packs 897 pieces into a race car that looks surprisingly close to the real thing. Authentic details—like butterfly doors and a V12 engine with moving pistons—are inspired by an actual Ferrari, and kids will love showing off such a striking display piece once it’s built.
For LEGO lovers who aren’t quite ready for an 897-piece build, the LEGO City F1 Garage & Mercedes-AMG & Alpine Cars playset packs plenty of fun in an easier-to-construct set. They’ll still get the thrill of a race car, but this one is designed to be played with.
5. Melissa & Doug Simmer & Stir Stovetop Play Set
While cooking toys are always a hit with the toddler set, this new offering from Melissa & Doug takes it to the next level with color-changing food. Taking a page (literally) from their Water Wow coloring books, kids can watch the food go from plain white to vibrant color just by adding water from the included squeeze bottle and spoon. Once the food changes color, their culinary creation is fully cooked and ready to be served!
For a kitchen playset that’s more compact (and doesn’t need any water), the Dailyfunn Wooden Foldable & Portable Toy Stove is an excellent choice. It comes with plenty of accessories so kids can cook up a storm, but it folds flat for easy storage.
6. Little Live Pets Ouchies Cooper
Little Live Pets are always a holiday hit—who can resist a cute interactive stuffed animal?—but the new Ouchies line takes the fun up a notch. Cooper arrives with a little limp and comes with bandages, a cast, and a carrier that doubles as a vet tray, so kids can play doctor and help him heal. Once he’s all better, his limp disappears.
If Ouchies are out of stock, you can’t go wrong with a Little Live Pets My Really Real Talking Bird. The colorful birds come with their own cage, and sound just like the real thing. You can even get it to mimic what you say.
7. Ms. Rachel Tonie
Think of Ms. Rachel as the Kardashian of the toddler world: an absolute superstar. It’s no wonder her Tonie figurine keeps selling out. If you manage to snag one to pair with your child’s Toniebox, they’ll get access to her signature mix of songs and educational activities that help teach essentials like colors, animals, and more.
If you’re not able to get a Ms. Rachel Tonie before it’s time to start wrapping presents, the Ms. Rachel Spin Along Learning Wheel is a good alternative. It has three modes, including animal sounds, songs, and colors, and encourages early speech development through repetition and movement.
8. DJ Furby
DJ Furby is, essentially, a stuffed animal that also plays music and lights up. Kids can snuggle with DJ Furby or enjoy one of his five interactive modes, along with 20 different games and activities. He’s the perfect gift for any kid who is in between the big kid and teen stage.
If your kid is really just interested in stuffed animals—or you, as a parent, have sworn off any toys that make noise—opt for a Squishmallow instead. Yep, they’re still super popular, but there are plenty of designs to choose from, so you don’t have to worry about them selling out.
9. Connect 4 Frenzy
A new game is always a win with teens and tweens, and Connect 4 Frenzy delivers. It puts a wild twist on the classic by having players bounce disks off the table and into the grid, making it way more challenging—and way more hilarious. Expect a lot of cheering, groaning, and nonstop laughter.
For an easier game the whole family can enjoy, snap up Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. It’s righteously fun, but simple enough for even preschoolers to play.
10. Monopoly Wicked
The Wicked-themed toys just keep coming, with this version of the popular property board game. Everything is green and pink, and the tokens are gold, so you’ll feel just like you stepped into Emerald City. The board features locations from the movie, and Munchkin houses and Emerald castles are what you’re aiming to build.
There’s also a Wicked version of Uno, ideal for the whole family, that features a “defying gravity” card that lets players skip players based on how many green cards they have. It’s sure to be wickedly fun.
