Romance is different to everyone. To some, it's flowers, chocolates, and champagne, but to me, it's one person doing something nice for someone else. And what is a nice thing to do for someone? Buy them gifts, of course!
Since you are probably not a mind reader, it can be really hard to travel inside someone's head and figure out what gift would make them happy. On Valentine's Day, you can try, but why try when you can KNOW the right thing to give your loved one? That's right. I have ESPN. Just kidding. That was a Mean Girls reference. I don't actually have ESPN (except on my cable subscription at home), nor do I have ESP. But I do know a good gift when I see one.

But I guess she doesn't have to eat them if she likes looking at them that much.

Here's my personal take on Valentine's Day: it's just another day of the year. I don't need a gift because it's Valentine's Day. However, recognition for being awesome is always nice just because. If you want to do something nice for me (other than my laundry), here is everything you need to make a very basic (but enjoyable) Valentine's Day package that someone like me would actually want: chocolate (except when I'm on a diet, which I am), flowers (must match color aesthetic of my home, so neutral), white wine (an expensive bottle between $15 and $30—yes this is expensive to me, don't judge), oh and a card. You can even add in some of my favorite foods (pizza, cheese, french fries) and call it a day.
