At this year’s CES 2023, ible Technology is debuting its Airvida T1 person air purifier and noise canceling headphones which take clearing the air to a new level. If you’ve ever stepped outside and been met with a sinus-clogging wall of pollen and other airborne allergens, then this personal air purifier wants to help you breathe easier.

This wearable technology sits in your ears like any standard pair of earbuds. Using ionic technology, the purifier releases negative ions that attach to particles in the air. This transforms pollutants and makes them heavy enough to fall to the ground and out of your personal airway.

Using ionic technology, the Airvida T1 eliminates air pollutants in the facial region.

Since the air purifier sits just outside of the ear, the ionic discharge is focused on targeting air particles in your direct facial area. There’s an available app to connect to the air purifier which tracks just how clean the air around you is. The device claims to be 99% effective on pollen, allergens, and viruses.

While we haven’t tested the Airvida T1, Reviewed’s Chief Scientist, Dave Ellerby, confirms the theory behind the ionic technology. He does note that ionic technology works better on particles rather than chemical pollutants so they are not a total solution to pollution protection. However, if your goal is to reduce the amount of dust, dander, or pollen you’re breathing in then this is could be a suitable option.

Ellerby says the major concern behind ionic air purification is that it can produce ozone gas. Airvida’s ozone levels are listed well below the FDA exposure limit so this item should be safe to use.

ible Technology, which makes the Airvida T1, was an honoree of this year’s 2023 CES Innovation Awards. The Airvida T1 is not yet available on the US market. It’s expected launch in late 2023 and will be available to purchase on Amazon along with ible’s other wearable air purifiers.
