Introduction

Front

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

The {{product.name}} is on a brand new wash platform that LG calls Titan. Company representatives couldn't confirm the washer's capacity, but assured us it would be one of the largest in its class. When paired with a matching dryer, combined washer and dryer capacity was estimated at around 14 cubic feet.

Like other LG washers we've tested, the {{product.name}}'s exterior is needlessly attractive for an appliance that'll spend most of its life hidden behind laundry room doors. Still, there's no fault in beauty, and the {{product.name}} is one handsome washer.

We couldn't see the rear of the {{product.name}}, but it'll probably have the expected hot and cold water inputs and drain hose output.

Detergent Dispenser

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

Nothing special here -- it's a standard high-end LG dispenser.

Washer Door

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

The {{product.name}}'s massive door is somewhat flimsy and hard to open and close. The demonstrator model we examined felt similar to other big-door LGs we've tested, which means the door may end up ajar without a well-placed hand. This may be improved on production-ready models.

Ease of Use

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

With its giant door, the LG is sure easy to load, though taking out that much wet laundry may be even more of a chore than usual for some folks. The control panel layout is a border of square buttons surrounding cycle information displays, and some users may find it difficult to parse initially.

Controls

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

A central knob contains all the wash cycles, and a secondary screen allows for custom cycle choices. There are all the usual suspects here, plus a sanitary cycle that's supposed to get hot enough to kill bacteria and an allergen cycle that uses lots of water to wash out potential irritants. We'll test the efficacy of all these cycles as soon as we can get the {{product.model}} in our lab.

LG is also debuting a new dual-spray rinse technology on the {{product.model}}, which combines parts of cycles in order to save time. The company says that this feature makes the {{product.model}} the fastest washer in its class. We can't wait to test that claim.

Conclusion

{{product.vanity}}

The first washer built on LG's all-new Titan platform, the {{product.model}} will be at the top of LG's front-loading washer lineup. It promises new wash technology and a massive capacity, though details about each are very scarce at this point.
