Working from home can quickly blur the lines between pajamas, loungewear, and workout clothes—especially these days during the coronavirus pandemic. Those yoga pants you’ve worn for three days in a row—are they even yoga pants anymore? Or are they your new work uniform? It’s hard to tell at this point. (Also, what’s the acceptable limit to wear the same pair of yoga pants repeatedly? Asking for a friend.)

While wearing the same thing on repeat can be the easiest option, it’s nice to have multiple pairs of yoga pants to feel like there are variations in your day and week despite being stuck at home. Below are some of our favorite yoga pants for whatever “fill-in-the-blank from home” activity you’re doing.

For high-intensity workouts A good sweat session is just what the doctor ordered, whether it’s HIIT, spin, or a quick sprint. For that, you’ll need leggings that are moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and let you move, here are our favorites.

1. These beloved Lululemon high-rise tights

If you’re looking to break a serious sweat inside, these are the leggings for you. Made with quick-drying fabric, these tights are designed for all the burpees you’ll now be doing at home. The Wunder Train High-Rise Tights are one of the most popular yoga pants from Lululemon, boasting a 4.4 star rating from over 400 reviews. One reviewer raved that they are “the perfect style for a sweaty workout”.

2. These on-trend Nike tights will make you shine

Credit: Nike

The Nike Speed tights are technically meant for running, but they are also great for high-intensity workouts. I own these tights from Nike and they have quickly become my go-to tight. I love how comfortable they are for running errands. They also move with you while staying in place for hardcore workouts. You’ll love these tights for your online boot camp, virtual HIIT class, or socially distant outdoor run. These high-shine tights give your workout an extra glow (I’m crushing on the Gunsmoke grey color), and I love how the material feels soft and silky on my legs.

For low-impact workouts Whether you’re more of a downward-facing dog, Pilates 100, or a plié person, we’ve got you covered. We scoured the internet for the top-rated leggings that are soft, breathable, and with just the right amount of stretch for all your low-impact activities.

3. These Alo yoga pants celebrities are obsessed with

Credit: Alo

These Alo pants have been spotted on many high-profile celebrities like Kylie Jenner, so of course, we had to try them out for ourselves. One of our editors, Amanda, who practically lives and breathes in yoga pants tried them and said, “I've been wearing mine at least four times a week—for everything from hot yoga to spin—and they've been holding up great. I love that I can wear them for almost any occasion and that, when I'm working out, they provide the right amount of both comfort and compression.”

4. These leggings from under the radar British brand, Sweaty Betty

Credit: Sweaty Betty

I’m going to let you in on a secret: I love the brand Sweaty Betty. While it hasn’t yet gained the cult following of Lululemon in the U.S., it’s only a matter of time before the secret explodes for this British brand. These buttery soft leggings are great for that online yoga or barre class (I have also used them for boot camp classes without a problem). They have good compression and, according to reviews, “hold it all in without being uncomfortable.” They also come in a variety of amazing colors and prints.

Is there anyone out there that doesn’t love a jogger? They’re sporty, they’re cute, and oh-so-comfy. They’re the next level of comfort when you’ve had too many social isolation snacks and don’t want to squeeze into leggings but refuse to give in to sweatpants just yet. Many reviewers commented on the softness and one said “I never want to take them off.”

While most of us only have our pets, significant others, or a few family members to look at us now, these “Look at Me Now” camo print leggings from Spanx are cute enough to wear for a Zoom happy hour and will still be fashionable when we can go out again with free abandon. Many excited reviewers said the leggings “fit like a glove” and “suck everything in”.

For lounging Has there ever been a better time for lounging around the house? I think not, and we’ve got you covered with the comfy-est and cozy-est leggings for all the Netflix you’ve been watching.

Everlane says you can “do what you want—in a legging that does it all.” Truly these leggings can do just about anything that doesn’t require sweating (couch potatoes rejoice). These leggings have over 1,000 reviews with many raving about comfort. One of our editors also agreed and liked them enough to put them in her hard-to-get-into legging rotation. One review was appropriately titled “Chillax to the Max” while another enthusiastic reviewer said, “Yes, it does really feel like a second skin.”

These are the throw-on-and-go leggings, or maybe throw-on-and-sit-down these days. Either way you’ll be super cozy in these Airism leggings from Uniqlo. Personally I am a huge fan of the Airism material from Uniqlo—it’s extremely soft, breathable and feels slightly cool to the touch.
