At last year’s Architectural Digest show in New York, we were introduced to the world of high-end outdoor cooking by Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet. The company makes a vast range of outdoor grills, cooktops, refrigerators, and cabinetry—essentially, everything you need to build the poolside kitchen of your dreams.
Oh, and did we mention the company also offers an outdoor pizza oven? Be still, our flatbread-loving hearts!
At this year’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas, Kalamazoo is showing off a new take on its existing countertop Artisan Fire Pizza Oven, adding a built-in option for buyers who want that rustic pizzeria experience on their back patio.
Performance is said to be identical to the countertop version, including its 20-minute warmup time and temperature range of 250 to 800 degrees Fahrenheit from two independently controlled burners. That’s plenty hot enough to cook an authentic Neapolitan-style pie.
The handmade built-in Artisan Fire Pizza Oven won’t come cheap, listing at $8,295, but that’s relatively affordable compared to some of Kalamazoo’s other offerings. Remember this $21,000 grill?
We’ll be heading over to Kalamazoo’s booth later today to cook up a pie of our own, so check back for our hands-on (and mouth-on) impressions, complete with video of the cooking (and tasting) process.
