How we tested

We tested this All-Clad nonstick pan by cooking a variety of foods, including this chicken breast.

We tested the NS Pro Ceramic Nonstick Frying Pans using several criteria: heat distribution, ease of cleaning, and durability over multiple uses.

We cooked chicken breast, fried eggs, sautéed sausage, and made sauces, paying attention to how the nonstick coating performed, how easy the pans were to clean, and whether any hot spots or uneven cooking areas appeared. We also noted the handle temperature and the weight of each pan.

What we like

These are made for everyday use

We used these pans every day for a month, and we consider them durable. From tomato sauce to fried eggs, the nonstick coating remained consistently effective and outperformed its Teflon relatives. Food slid out easily with every use, even with little to no oil.

Sauces also poured out of the pans with ease, leaving little residue. This made cleanup a breeze. For dishes like eggs, a wipe with a clean paper towel was all it took. Even after cooking chicken, veggies, or sauces, the pans took little work to clean. Just some warm, soapy water and a few seconds of scrubbing with a gentle sponge left the pans looking essentially unused.

These are incredible everyday pans. The high-quality build and reliable performance reduce the time spent on both cooking and cleaning.

The fry set offers a variety of useful sizes

This fry set covers all your bases. The 8-inch is perfect for single servings, whether you're frying an egg or reheating leftovers. The 10-inch handles everyday meals like sautéed vegetables or chicken breasts without taking up too much stovetop space. And when you're cooking for a crowd, the 12-inch pan has the space you need to make large batches, fast.

Having all three means you're always set with the right pan.

The non-stick ceramic coating is non-toxic

All-Clad's nonstick pans require very little oil when cooking; the ceramic coating is both nontoxic and effective.

One of the biggest selling points of these pans is the ceramic nonstick coating. Unlike the nonstick pans you typically think of, which use Teflon and can release harmful chemicals when overheated, All-Clad's sol-gel ceramic coating is non-toxic and PFAS-free. That means no microplastics or chemicals leach into your food or your home's air, a genuine concern with a lot of nonstick cookware.

In our tests, we found this coating more effective than Teflon, with the added bonus of cooking without worrying about toxic fumes—what's not to love?

The coating uses All-Clad's HardCore Ceramic Technology, which provides up to twice the scratch resistance of standard ceramic coatings. After a month of heavy use, the pans still look and perform like new.

Even heat distribution

These pans have a precision-engineered stainless-steel base that distributes heat evenly across the pan. Especially when cooking meat, the even heat distribution shows. When checking the internal temperature of our chicken breast, it read the same no matter where we tested, and the same was true when frying eggs and making sauces. There were no hot spots in sight.

Speaking of heat, the handles stay cool to the touch, even during extended cooking, so you can move the pans around without worrying about burning your hands.

What we don't like

They're not suitable for the highest temperatures

All-Clad's pans are not rated for high heats, which made pan frying sausage a difficulty.
Credit: Veronica Gilligan

The main drawback of these pans is the heat limitation. They're only rated for low to medium heat, with oven use capped at 450°F. This feels counterintuitive for a frying pan, since high heat is often what you need for a proper sear or stir-fry.

That said, this is a common tradeoff with nonstick cookware across the board, not just All-Clad. For everyday cooking like eggs, sauces, and sautéed vegetables, the heat range is more than sufficient, but if you regularly cook at high temperatures, it's worth considering.

They're not dishwasher safe

Another limitation is that these pans are not dishwasher safe. High heat and harsh detergents can degrade the ceramic coating over time, so hand washing is a must.

You also need to wait until the pans reach room temperature before cleaning them, as washing while they're still hot can wear down the coating. But again, this is true of most other ceramic-coated pans.

The good news is that, given how easy these are to clean by hand, it's not much of an inconvenience. However, if you are strongly opposed to doing the dishes by hand, these are probably not the pans for you.

Warranty

All-Clad's pans come with a year long warranty covering any defects in the product.

These pans come with a one-year warranty covering defects in material, construction, and workmanship under normal use. If something goes wrong, All-Clad will repair or replace the pan at no charge, and if the original product is no longer in production, the company will swap it for something of equal or greater value.

One thing to note is that the warranty only applies if you purchased from an authorized retailer, so make sure you're buying directly from All-Clad or a verified seller. The warranty also won't cover normal wear and tear, damage from misuse, or anything that results from not following the care instructions, like putting the pans in the dishwasher or using harsh cleaners.
