*March 30, 2007 - *Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America Imaging Products Inc., Irvine, Calif., announced the new CP-9800DW digital photo printer. The Mitsubishi CP-9800DW offers fast output speeds, and is geared towards professional photographers in the field, as well as photo retailers looking to cycle customers through the photo kiosk process more quickly.

The machine features a high-speed USB 2.0 interface and a print speed of 8.7 seconds for a 4-by-6-inch print, which allows the production of 100 prints in just 15 minutes at a consistent printing speed, says Mitsubishi.

The new CP-9800DW color management engine technology is based on Mitsubishi's adaptive thermal-head management engine and features a 300 dpi high-density thermal head for consistent picture production. The CP-9800DW also offers four print sizes (3.5-by-5-inch, 4-by-6-inch, 5-by-7-inch, and 6-by-9-inch) with edge-to-edge printing. With a jam-free, roll-type mechanism, photo prints of any size are deposited in the front-access paper catch tray for customer access, says the company.
