Have you been thinking about getting back to the gym or making some healthy lifestyle changes? A good fitness tracker can be a great motivator to stay on track, and the Fitbit Charge 2 is currently on sale all over the internet. Amazon*, Target, and Groupon are just a few of the shops you can choose from to scoop up one of Fitbit’s top trackers for $129.95, which usually sells for $149.95.
What’s to love in the Charge 2
Fitbit has a whole lineup of great products to choose from. But what I love most about the Charge 2, aside from the heart rate monitor, is that it offers fun features like guided breathing sessions and call, text, and calendar alerts that the lower end models don’t. But it’s also not trying to mimic the smartwatch design like the Blaze, which I find to be too large and bulky.
The stainless steel Charge 2 can be paired with one of four band colors: black, plum, blue and teal (the special editions in gunmetal and rose gold come at a higher price tag of $180). Plus, Fitbit made the bands interchangeable on this model, and there are a LOT of Fitbit-branded and third-party options whether you want something sporty and breathable for your workout or a more sophisticated look for a night out without sacrificing your step count.
Amazing customer service trumps minor issues
Fitbits do have a bit of a reputation for breaking from time to time, but I can attest that the company’s customer service is nothing short of amazing when that happens.
I’ve had a first-gen Charge HR for over two years, and when the first one stopped syncing, they walked me through some easy troubleshooting. When that didn’t fix it, they simply sent me a brand new replacement at no charge—they even offered to let me choose a new color.
My replacement has been going strong with zero issues for over a year now, but if it goes the way of the first one, I’m definitely going to upgrade to the new Charge 2 HR or the slimmer, and nearly as capable, Alta HR (also on sale for the same price!). I stand by this brand, partly because I love all the data the trackers provide, but also because they know how to treat their customers.
