I dropped $100 on the boho fashion trend—is Amazon the place to shop it?

Money wasted or well-spent?

Boho fashion is back in a big way. Flowy silhouettes, lace trim, and earth tones are popping up everywhere, from runways to mass-market retail. The word “boho” might trigger flashbacks to the 2016 Coachella fashion craze (sorry for bringing up those memories), but the 2026 version of the trend leaves behind the wide-brimmed hats, ethnic-inspired prints, and feather hair extensions. Instead, it’s all about breathable fabrics, romantic lace and ruffle accents, and vintage-inspired patterns and silhouettes.

Unfortunately, the 2026 boho trend also comes with a bigger price tag. It makes sense that the elevated look of “Boho 2.0” costs more, but most of us don’t have $250 to throw at a single Free People dress. So I went looking for a more budget-friendly way to get in on the trend. I bought four boho-inspired pieces on Amazon for just $103, and here are my thoughts on each one.

1. Vergoodr Women’s Long Boho Backless Dress

Flowy rayon and a dramatic open back give this dress its free-spirited feel.

Close your eyes and picture a bohemian dress. OK, now open them and look at this one. I bet it looked a lot like this.

Wearing this dress, I felt the (living) spirit of Stevie Nicks overtake me. Seriously, this is peak boho. I was super happy with this order; it totally captures the flowy, free-spirited vibe of the entire trend. The dark green colorway is rich and, dare I say, even enchanting. The rayon skirt is billowy and ethereal, and the back—or lack thereof—is gorgeous. So many backless dresses stop at the waistline, but this one goes all in, with an open cut that dips down to the hips. If you’re planning to retreat into the forest and take up witchcraft, I’d add this to your packing list.

What I didn’t like

Personally, I consider this dress a win, but there are a few things to keep in mind before buying. I read through the reviews before placing my order, and a common complaint was that the bodice runs small. I can totally see this being an issue for anyone with a larger bust. I don’t have much going on up top, but if I had even slightly more, the bodice would feel tight. Again, I didn’t run into this myself, but some reviewers also mentioned that the smocking can turn sheer when it stretches across the chest.

2. Boho Semi-Sheer Lace-Trim Top

Details like knit lace and elastic loops set this top apart from typical fast-fashion boho.

This top is adorable. When I pulled it out of the package, I was immediately excited about the overall aesthetic—which is undeniably boho, just as I’d hoped. It’s 100% cotton, so it’s super light and breathable. I also appreciated the attention to detail: It has elasticized rouleau loops instead of traditional buttonholes, which makes it easy to button and unbutton. The knit cotton lace detailing is sturdy, too—a big step up from the synthetic lace that plagues so many boho-inspired fast-fashion pieces. It leans heavily into the vintage-inspired side of the current boho aesthetic, which I’m a big fan of—after all, I did pick these pieces.

This top is versatile. Thanks to the flowy cut, it layers well. I’d totally throw it on over a strappy dress for a bit more coverage, wear it unbuttoned over a cute bralette during warmer months, or pair it with jeans to add an easy boho flair to a simple outfit.

What I didn’t like

Despite my overall fandom of this top, there are a few downsides to be aware of. The biggest is that it’s decidedly sheer, which its name clearly indicates. Personally, I’m not against a tasteful sheer piece, but this isn’t the top to wear to your next job interview.

The other caveat is the fit. I mentioned that it has a flowy silhouette, which is true, but it’s cut boxy and square. If you prefer clothes that follow your body's shape, this top does the exact opposite. That said, this issue isn’t unique to this piece: The boho trend as a whole tends to lean into loose, shapeless cuts rather than figure-flattering ones.

3. Beautelicate Half Slip Skirt Extender

Sold as a slip skirt, this cotton piece also works on its own thanks to its eyelet lace hem.

The vintage-style lace hem is the star here, whether the skirt is worn solo or layered under a midi dress.

This piece is a pleasant surprise, and I was genuinely impressed when I pulled it out of the package. It’s well made from 100% cotton. Much like the lace-trimmed top on this list, the lace at the hem of this skirt is seriously high quality. The product title calls it Alencon lace, but the description calls it eyelet lace, which I’d say is more accurate. Either way, it has a real vintage, Little House on the Prairie feel and elevates this simple white skirt. I’d be happy to wear it on its own, but it would also look cute under a midi dress, with the sweet lace detailing peeking out at the bottom.

I ordered a size small, and it fits well. The elastic waistband is stretchy enough that I can comfortably wear it high- or low-waisted. I’d pair it with fleece-lined tights and a chunky sweater in the winter, or with a frilly blouse or oversized tee in the summer.

What I didn’t like

The only complaint I have here is the same as I mentioned for the lace-trimmed top: It's subtly sheer. I’d pair it with nude or light-colored undergarments to keep things modest. In all fairness, Amazon describes this as a slip skirt, so while I bought it planning to wear it on its own (as I’m sure most modern-day shoppers would), it’s technically designed to be worn under another skirt or dress.

4. Sidefeel Women’s Long Cardigan

The thin, airy knit is what makes this cardigan great for early fall, and also why it’s delicate.

Not to brag, but I’d consider myself something of an expert in the cardigan space, and this one has been a fun addition to my growing fall collection. I love the mossy green color and the witchy shape; I could totally see Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic wearing something like this over an empire-waist dress.

It has playful bell sleeves and a lightweight open-weave knit that makes it great for transitional weather. The longer length also makes it more of a statement than your typical crew-neck cardigan.

I’d throw it over jeans and a T-shirt to make a boring outfit more exciting, or use it to autumn-ify (yes, that’s a word now) a more summery dress. I’m envisioning a babydoll dress, this cardigan, a leather trench, and knee-high boots.

What I didn’t like

Overall, I’m happy with this cardigan, but if the brand wants notes, I have a few. As I mentioned, the lightweight knit makes it great for those few weeks when it’s not quite cold enough for a heavy sweater but not quite warm enough to go without a layer. Note that I said few weeks, though, because that magical weather doesn’t last long. Any other time of year, you’d need to layer on top of this layering piece to get any real warmth out of it. And because it’s so long, it would look odd under a shorter jacket, so it really needs to be paired with a trench or another long coat, which not everyone has in their closet.

The other downside of its thinness is that it feels fragile. I wouldn’t feel comfortable tossing it in the dryer. In fact, the care instructions specifically say “hand-wash only,” and I don’t know about you, but I’ve never once in my life hand-washed anything. I’ll be throwing it in the wash on the delicate cycle and hoping for the best, but I’m not sure how long it’ll last.

Should you shop the boho trend on Amazon?

Yes, but proceed with caution

If I haven't made this clear already, I am thrilled with my boho haul from Amazon. I can totally see all four of these pieces becoming part of my regular closet rotation, which is a big win, considering my grand total was just $103.

If you’re into boho style but don’t want to spend a lot on clothes, Amazon has great options for your wardrobe.

Here’s my advice, though: Check the reviews and the fiber content. Especially with trend-driven styles like boho, if you aren’t careful, shopping at mass-market retailers like Amazon can leave you with chintzy pieces that look like they came from Spirit Halloween rather than a mysterious, moonlit fog. With so many options to sort through, you have to dig a bit to find the items that are truly worth it, but when you do, the payoff is that much more rewarding.
