There's a big, nationally celebrated football event coming up—you know the one—and that means it's just about the perfect time to think about upgrading your TV. Especially if you haven't bought a new TV in the last five or six years, you'd probably be amazed at just how good the latest models look.
We spend the whole year testing and reviewing TVs of all sizes and price points, and can stand by these big-screen behemoths—all of which we fully tested in our labs—as great picks for buyers hoping to see some jaw-dropping gridiron action.
1. 65-inch LG C7 OLED
This big LG OLED might be on the pricy side, but trust me, it's for good reason. With perfect black levels, vivid colors, awesome viewing angles, and smooth motion, LG's C7 OLED is an amazing screen to watch football on.
Whether you wall-mount this TV for maximum room viewing or leave it on its elegant tabletop stand, every seat in the house is going to be a great one—no matter which team you're rooting for. Just make sure you don't do too much pre-game roughhousing: this OLED TV is thinner than a pencil. Read the full review.
2. 65-inch LG B7 OLED
One step down from the C7 series, the 65-inch B7 is no less amazing looking, but it is more affordable. Fortunately for buyers, the differences are almost entire cosmetic—related (the C7 has a slightly better design, and slightly better audio).
However, if you just want the best screen at the best price, you really can't do better than the B7 line. The picture quality here is explicit, and it'll make the big game look better than ever. Read the full review.
3. 75-inch Vizio E Series (2017)
If you're looking to get your hands on a REALLY BIG screen for game day, the 75-inch Vizio E Series is one of the best-looking options in this size and price range. Many 75-inch TVs cost multiple thousands of dollars, making the E Series' sub-$2,000 price tag feel exceptionally valuable.
This full-array local dimming LED TV (with 4K resolution and HDR) isn't quite in the same league as the OLEDs, but it still looks great, and is definitely the best-looking 75-inch TVs in this price range. If you wanna be able to count every blade of grass, this one's a smart choice. Read the full review.
4. 75-inch Samsung MU8000
While it's a little pricier than the 75-inch E Series, the 75-inch MU8000 is worth it.
This super-bright HDR TV is much more than just a big screen: with tons of brightness and color punching power, it has the chops to make even the sorriest football team look like a million bucks.
This one is also 4K, and is an especially good choice if you're interested in getting a huge screen but also want a really solid HDR experience. Read the full review.
5. 65-inch Hisense H9D Plus
The 65-inch Hisense H9D plus is one of the more affordable 65-inch TVs you can buy, available online at under $1,000, but considering how affordable it is it still looks pretty darn good.
This TV lacks the brightness/color polish of the pricy OLEDs or more souped-up HDR sets, but it's still a 4K, HDR-capable smart TV that'll make you feel like you're front and center for all the superb action come game day. Read the full review.
6. 75-inch Vizio M Series
This huge set packs in great features like 4K resolution, HDR compatibility, and a Google cast-like smart system. And did I mention it's huge?
It's also a better performer overall than the E Series, though you'll be paying a bit for it (around $1,900 online). Even still, for the sub-$2,000 price range this may be the most valuable 75-inch TV available right now. Read the full review.
7. 65-inch TCL S Series
If you're just looking for the most affordable 65-inch TV on the market that's not a total junk-fire, the 65-inch TCL S Series is a great choice. It's not going to blow you away with its picture quality, but you won't be disappointed either—especially when you're checking out the big game on over three feet of screen. Read the full review.
8. 55-inch TCL P Series
I know, I know, 55 inches isn't exactly "huge" where flat-panel TVs are concerned these days, but for a lot of people, this is still a very big screen, and TCL's 55-inch P Series is still one of the best TVs we tested in 2017.
For what you're paying, this 4K/HDR Roku TV delivers a ton of value, hitting impressive marks for HDR specs and giving you all the content options of the robust Roku platform. If you can't afford the really big boys on the list, this is your next best bet for a great game day viewing experience. Read the full review.
