LG has also introduced a 77-inch OLED panel that bends at the press of a button.

On top of boasting the world's first commercial UHD OLED TVs, LG has also introduced a 77-inch OLED panel that bends at the press of a button. Samsung made a similar announcement at this year's CES, but the OLED technology makes LG's entry unique. LG's set will also automatically adjust sound and picture settings to suit a user's chosen curvature setting.

A large lineup of UHD LED TVs are also part of LG's IFA showcase, ranging from 49 inches up to a whopping 105-inch maximum screen size. The flagship of this particular line is a curved 105-inch 5K UHD (5120 x 2160) panel with 21:9 aspect ratio. LG outfits this super-wide option with 7.2-channel, 150-watt audio to create a true movie theater experience.

Highlighting partnerships with streaming providers such as Netflix and Amazon, LG has announced expansion of its UHD content library.

Finally, highlighting partnerships with providers such as Netflix and Amazon, LG has announced expansion of its UHD content library. The company is also showing off UHD content for European users via collaborations with Filmbox Live, Maxdome, videociety, and Okko.

Beyond streaming partnerships, LG revealed plans for "the world's first Ultra HD content streaming exclusive on LG’s Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV) in collaboration with France Television." Of course, LG's upscaling engines are always on standby to help optimize lower resolution signals to near-4K quality.

Finally, LG announced that it will unveil a 98-inch 8K UHD TV offering a massive 7680 x 4320 resolution that dwarfs even 4K. Details are scarce at this time, but it's likely this won't go into commercial production any time soon.
