When is the Walmart Deals 2026 sale?

Walmart hasn't officially announced the dates for its 2026 summer Deals Event yet, but based on years of consistent patterns, we're expecting it to run around July 7–12, 2026. Walmart+ members will likely get early access starting the evening before the sale at approximately 7 p.m. ET.

However, now that Amazon’s Prime Day is in June rather than July, Walmart may shift its own event to align with Amazon’s. We'll update this page as soon as Walmart makes an official announcement.

What can I expect from the Walmart Deals sale?

In past years, the Walmart Deals event has spanned six days with discounts of up to 75% off across virtually every department—both online and in-store. Expect to find deals on:

• Electronics: TVs, laptops, tablets, headphones, and more
• Home appliances: vacuums, air conditioners, small kitchen appliances
• Home decor and furniture: patio sets, storage, bedding
• Fashion and accessories: clothing, shoes, jewelry, watches
• Toys and seasonal goods: back-to-school supplies, outdoor gear
• Cookware and kitchen: nonstick sets, air fryers, and more

How to prepare for the Walmart Deals event

A few tips to get the most out of the sale before it goes live:

• 1. Add items to your Walmart cart early. Browsing ahead of time helps you move fast when the sale drops.

• 2. Sign up for Walmart+ if you want early access. The five-hour head start in 2025 gave members a meaningful advantage on popular items.

• 3. Compare prices across retailers. Amazon, Target, and Best Buy often run competing sales during Prime Day season. Don't assume Walmart has the best price on any given item—check around.

• 4. Focus on the categories Walmart does best. Walmart tends to shine on home goods, appliances, outdoor furniture, and everyday essentials. Amazon is often stronger on tech and electronics, though Walmart competes aggressively there too.

• 5. Watch for flash deals. Like Prime Day, the Walmart Deals event often features limited-time lightning-style offers that are only live for a few hours.

Do I need to be a Walmart+ member to shop the Walmart Deals sale?

Nope! Anyone can shop the Walmart Deals event—no membership required. That's one of the key differences between Walmart's sale and Amazon Prime Day, which is restricted to Prime subscribers.

That said, a Walmart+ membership does get you early access—typically five hours before the general public—which can be worth it if you're eyeing hot-ticket items that may sell out. In 2025, Walmart+ early access opened at 7 p.m. ET the night before the official sale started.

What is Walmart+, and is it worth it?

Walmart+ is Walmart's subscription membership program, similar in concept to Amazon Prime. It costs $98 per year (about $8.17/month) or $12.95 per month if you prefer to pay monthly. New members can also get a 30-day trial for $1.

College and graduate students can get Walmart+ at 50% off through the Walmart+ Student plan ($49/year). AARP members can also save $40 off the annual membership.
