June 12, 2007* - Eastman Kodak Company today launched a new line of M-series digital cameras. Kodak expects the four new point-and-shoot models - the M883, M873, M853, and the M753 - will meet the demand for style-conscious cameras at entry-level price points. All the new M-series cameras come in a variety of color options and will be available in the coming months.

"The style/value segment has become an increasingly important category in the digital imaging market," said Kodak Limited Chairman and Managing Director Julian Baust in a UK company press release today. "Our M-Series line brings consumers the opportunity to expand their picture-taking experience by converging stylish, compact designs and quality digital imaging technology, with affordable pricing."

All the M-series models include a 3x optical zoom lens, digital image stabilization, high ISO settings, and HD still capture that allows users to view their photos in the 16:9 aspect ratio on HDTVs.

The M883 is the series' most advanced design. The 8-megapixel M883 has an all-metal exterior body and a 3-inch LCD screen. It is also the only M-series model that features face detection. The 8.2-megapixel M853 and the 7-megapixel M753 sport 2.5-inch LCD monitors and high sensitivity settings of 1250 ISO.
