*June 26, 2006 – *Today, Adobe Systems Inc. announced the acquisition of digital imaging software company Pixmantec ApS and its assets. The acquisition marks Adobe plans to improve their raw processing technology, according to today's Adobe press release.

Pixmantec is a Denmark-based company that specializes in RAW format conversion, particularly with their premium product RAWShooter.

'Adobe plans to integrate Pixmantec raw processing technologies into Lightroom,' the Adobe photo workflow beta 2.0 released in February.

As part of the buyout, Pixmantec's RAWShooter will be discontinued. Adobe says there will not be a 'material financial impact on the company,' according to the release.
