March 27, 2007 – Adobe today announced details of its Creative Suite 3, marking the biggest launch in the company's 25-year history. The company introduced 13 updated stand-alone products, including Photoshop CS3, and six different product bundles. Creative Suite 3 will be available in April, with prices ranging from $240 for an upgrade to $2,499 for the Creative Suite 3 Master Collection.

"This release reflects the powerful integration between Adobe and Macromedia and how our products bridge the gap between designers and developers," said Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen in a company press release today. "With new workflows that streamline collaboration and impact the development of rich content, designers and developers now have the creative license to engage audiences across virtually every medium.'

Adobe’s launch of Creative Suite 3 comes after its 2005 acquisition of Macromedia, a deal worth $3.4 billion, according to a Reuters report. This new release marries the functionalities of Adobe and Macromedia products. Creative Suite 3 includes new features for video and 3D animation with an emphasis on Flash production. The new Adobe products are designed to be compatible and function as an integrated collection, according to the release.

Many of Adobe's new collections include the recently launched Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop CS3 Extended. Previous versions of Photoshop have typically accounted for half of Adobe’s total revenue, according to Reuters. Collections offered are:
