November 13, 2006 – Former photo product and accessory maker AgfaPhoto GmbH is licensing its brand name out to European companies, according to Photo Marketing Association (PMA).

The German-based company faced bankruptcy last year and since then took the name of parent company AgfaPhoto Holding GmbH. After its financial woes and virtual hibernation from the digital world, AgfaPhoto is re-emerging in the industry with its trademark on European products.

German-based plawa feinwektechnik GmbH & Co. KG uses the AgfaPhoto name on its digital cameras. French company Sagem Communication has the AgfaPhoto brand on its photo printers. Likewise, German Lupus Imaging & Media GmbH and Co. KG uses the trademark for their one-time use cameras, black and white film, and batteries, according to PMA.
