August 15, 2006 – eBay’s best-selling 6 megapixel camera is the Canon PowerShot SD600, according to a Photo Marketing Association survey released this week.
In a two-week study ending August 8, PMA examined eBay’s consumer response to 6-megapixel point-and-shoots. The best-seller was the Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH that sold for an average eBay price of $264.88, nearly $80 less than the suggested retail price when Canon announced the model in February.
The Canon PowerShot SD700 and the SD630, also introduced at the same time as the SD600, ranked as high sellers. Other popular cameras were the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 and DSC-T9. Kodak followed suit with its EasyShare C643 and Z650, and Olympus models included the Stylus 600 and SP-500 UZ.
The top eBay searches, according to PMA, were Sony, Kodak, Canon, Nikon, and Fuji and Casio, which did not make the cut as best-sellers on eBay these last two weeks.
