Casio Opens up Shop in Spain

September 1, 2006 – A new Casio subsidiary, Casio España SL begins operations today, handling sales and marketing of digital cameras and timepieces, according to yesterday’s Casio Europe press release.

"With its over 44 million inhabitants and a good functioning economic system, Spain represents considerable growth potential for Casio," said Yashuiro Ito, former Casio Europe GmbH manager and new Casio España managing director.

The new Casio division has 27 employees and a working capital of 1.5 million euros (equivalent to $1.9 million USD).

Casio Europe, headquartered in Germany, will continue to handle other electronic equipment, including office equipment, music instruments, data projectors, mobile devices, and cash registers.
