Sept. 7, 2007 – Digital accessories maker Delkin Devices, Inc. last month released new UDMA (Ultra Direct Memory Access)-enabled CompactFlash PRO memory cards in storage capacities of 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB. The Delkin 1GB UDMA CF PRO card has a suggested retail price of $79.99, while the 2GB card is priced at $109.99. The 4GB card is $179.99, and the 8GB card is $299.99. The Delkin memory cards are currently available online and in stores.

UDMA technology promises faster data transfer. While the new UDMA Delkin cards are compatible with CF host electronics, they are limited to UDMA-enabled readers. For this reason, Delkin is also shipping an UDMA-enabled CardBus adapter and FireWire reader.

With a write speed of 305x, the Delkin CF cards can transfer data at 45 MB per second, according to an Aug. 20 company press release. Each Delkin Pro card comes with a lifetime warranty.

"This new performance increase propels Delkin to the forefront of memory card manufacturers," said Delkin Marketing Manager Eric Richter in the release.

Delkin plans to release an ExpressCard at a later date, according to the release.
