Tim Barribeau from Digital Camera Info reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, which is a high-end compact camera. The LX3 failed to impress and is called "frustrating". According to the review, the $500 price tag is not justified since the LX3 is mediocre performance wise. Images were found to be noisy, the menu system poorly designed and the DPOF support is also minimal.
Excerpt from conclusion:
"It's a camera we want to love: if it cost less we would be more forgiving of the mediocre test results. But for $500, we expect something better, and as much we admire the aesthetics, feel and control offered by the LX3, it costs too much and performs too poorly."
