August 10, 2006 – Last week, the Federal Communications Commission issued approval to Nikon Corp.’s D200 WT-3 Wireless Transmitter.

The FCC, which finished testing on Friday, confirmed the transmitter’s compatibility with the D200 camera and the EN-EI3e batteries. The WT-3 transmitter attaches to the D200 as a handgrip with antenna. There is a multi-selector and options to send photos as NEF files or JPEG files to print.

The Nikon WT-3 transmitter, according to the FCC report, "complies with both FCC and IC radiation exposure."

Nikon has not released information on when the transmitter will become available to the public.
